Key Responsibilities
Receiving Operations

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Warehouse Specialist to join the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University to support a Department of Defense (DoD) Joint Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the shipping and receiving of critical supplies and equipment to both CONUS (Continental United States) and OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) locations, ensuring compliance with DoD regulations and policies. This position requires a proactive problem solver who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.

You will:
Assist in the development and execution of logistics plans, policies, and procedures to support the DoD Joint Program objectives
Maintain accurate inventory records, track the movement of assets, and conduct periodic inventory audits to ensure accountability and compliance with DoD regulations
Prepare and process all required shipping documentation, including DD Form 1348, Material Inspection and Receiving Reports (MIRR), and Commercial Bills of Lading (CBL)
Manage the receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and equipment to support DoD Joint Program requirements in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.
Implement and maintain an efficient warehouse layout to optimize storage capacity, workflow, and safety

Minimum requirements include a Bachelor's degree plus 4 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
Required skills/experience areas include:
Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management, preferably in a DoD or military environment
Knowledge of DoD regulations, policies, and procedures related to logistics and material management
Experience with shipping and receiving hazardous materials (HAZMAT) in compliance with applicable regulations

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

JOB DESCRIPTION The Warehouse Assistant executes and assists in loading-out for all deliveries and events. Quality check-out of food and beverage items is required and ensures all vehicles leave on the scheduled time. The Warehouse Assistant reports directly to the Warehouse Manager.You are to ensure that the following goals are met:1. Ensuring each event is pulled, equipped and loaded out on time. a. Know when driver is due for arrival, if 10 minutes late notify manager. b. Tend to the driver upon arrival, inform driver of pull, vehicle & necessary event info. c. Practice efficient & safe loading d. Spot check items in vehicle prior to departure time2. Ensure clean and working equipment a. When dirty, notify manager, then clean and test. b. If broken, identify problem, notify manager, then repair and test. c. Always test equipment prior to loading an event. d. Tag any broken items that require time to repair and set aside. e. All items on shelves are to be clean and in good working condition. f. Drop off and pick up miscellaneous laundry and dry clean3. Restock/Package and organize inventory a. List any items to be ordered prior to being out of stock b. Ensure that all loose items are plastic wrapped and organized accordingly c. Keep track of inventory, notify manager of any missing items, such as but not limited to APP & Morgan Linen d. Receiving & securing alcohol inventory from clients e. Pick up and return will calls4. Vehicle Maintenance a. Pick up and return vehicle rentals b. Wash, fuel, repair & service c. Ensure all assigned vehicles are safe working condition5. Pop ups, deliveries and pick-ups a. Carry out emergency deliveries or pick-ups and stand in temporarily for absent driver b. Coordinate customer pick-ups
