Summary: The Warehouse Assistant I prepares, ships, and receives customer product ensuring proper documentation. May perform the duties of Material Handler. Ability to train and substitute leadership if the supervisor is not present. The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed Required: * HS Diploma or G.E.D. * Minimum of three (3) years of related warehouse experience. * Prior experience operating an Electric Pallet Jack (EPJ) and a Stand Up Forklift. * Prior experience using shipping & receiving software systems. * Requires knowledge of DOT regulations. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs - requires strength and endurance. * Normal hearing range sufficient to hear alarms, bells, horns, etc. * Ability to effectively read, write and verbally communicate in English. * Requires ability to navigate through defined computer screens and STERIS Operational Data Management System. Proficient use of Microsoft Office Programs. Preferred: * Ability to multi-task and prioritize duties. * Ability to work independently under general guidelines and supervision. * Above average organizing, analyzing and a minimum of Level 2 math skills (four basic arithmetic functions in all units of measurement, decimals, ratios, rates, percentages). Can draw and interpret bar, line or pie charts. Strong attention to detail and data accuracy (Receiving Reports, Bills of Lading, etc.) * Effective interpersonal skills as demonstrated through prior experience. * Able to adapt to changing duties and responsibilities.
