Overview
The Distribution Driver Class A is responsible for delivering products to clients; inspect general condition of vehicle; prepare, load, unload, operate, and clean vehicle including following all safety precautions in accordance with SGWS and Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines. Review standing orders, develop sales, process payments, and maintain records.


Primary Responsibilities
Deliver statewide products to bars, restaurants, hotels, or other customer locations Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicle Receive payment for goods delivered Sort merchandise by invoice for delivery Adhere to safe and courteous operation of delivery vehicle at all times Check in money and returned goods daily with Driver Check-in & Accounting Cashier Complete all required paperwork daily, including Department of Transportation logbook and driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR) Report to work in adherence to company uniform standards (e.g., neat, clean, and properly attired) Adhere to all Safety regulations, and perform all duties in a safe manner Plan trip logistics and obtain necessary documents to transport goods Load and unloaded cargo make sure safety equipment is being utilized Ensure cargo is secured properly compliant with safety requirements Report any incidents to dispatcher Follow/adhere to all traffic laws Maintain vehicle, product, and equipment tidy and in good working order Perform other related duties as assigned

Consolidated Pipe & Supply Co. warehouse/driver job description

The employee in this position will be responsible for making local deliveries in our warehouse vehicle, on a daily basis, between one or more locations. Ability to lift a minimum of 75 pounds is required. Work environment includes company vehicle and warehouse, plant or production areas with periods of continual driving/sitting and occasional standing or walking. The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing is required. Forklift experience is a plus but not required. Must have a clean driving record and have a medical card. Pre-employment drug screening will be required post offer.


Job Functions (Duties, Responsibilities, and Requirements):

The primary duties consist of (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Follow safety rules and work procedures.
  • Prepares receipts for load picked up. May maintain truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Position blocks and/or tie rope around items to secure cargo during transit.
  • May load and unload truck; inspect truck equipment and supplies, such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water; and/or perform emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires, installing light bulbs, tire chains, and spark plugs.
  • Cleans work area or vehicle.
  • Performs other duties as needed
  • Put up stock in the warehouse
  • Pull orders as necessary
  • Create shipments for orders

Amarr, an international leader in innovative entrance systems, is hiring a motivated, focused warehouse worker (with occasional driver duties) to join our great distribution center team in Grand Rapids as a full time team member. This is the ideal position for the person who loves to work hard and take initiative without needing to have constant direction.
In this position you will:
* Complete production orders accurately and safely in a timely manner
* Provide deliveries as needed to customers in a safe and timely manner
* Accurately pull and stage product for customer pickup and load
* Review and inspect loaded material for accuracy with the dealer prior to them signing for the material
* Unload and accurately receive incoming product; includes inspecting for and reporting damage to DC management
* Provide personal attention to customer requests, or product needs during all customer interactions while maintaining a courteous, customer service oriented attitude
* Have the ability to work independently without constant direct supervision
* Perform warehousing and merchandise handling tasks in all phases of operations.
* Perform required light assembly tasks within the guidelines of product specifications
* Provide assistance to Door Center Management to ensure building and product security; including inventory & damage control.

Requirements and Qualifications:
* High School Education and previous experience is preferred
* Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid driver's license
* Must be able to pass all DOT requirements, including physical, background screening, and a MVR that must meet Amarr driver standards
* Ability to learn product, work well under pressure, and be mechanically inclined with the ability to operate power tools
* Must perform work in non-climate controlled warehouse facility
* Extended time on feet; walking distances up to 200 feet
* Manual dexterity and hand to eye coordination for operation of hand /power tools
* Frequent stooping, bending, walking, carrying, and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)

The Details:
This position is Monday - Friday from 7:30am - 4:00pm with occasional overtime. The pay rate starts $17/hr based on experience. Candidates for this position must have a good attitude, a desire to work hard with a great team, and the ability to be a self-starter.
