About the Position
The Warehouse Lead is responsible for acting as a coach/leader of warehouse associates. The job is responsible to coach and train teammates to fulfill their individual daily tasks in addition to the Lead's own tasks. The Lead may have various responsibilities based on the specific department, this can include, but is not limited to shipping/receiving, packaging, inventory control, general warehouse functions or material handling operators (i.e. forklift operators). Functions
Train new warehouse associates and forklift drivers and conduct Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) and annual recertification training.
Conduct EIP, performance, and maintenance observations.
Safely operate powered industrial equipment to move products or materials for distribution such as clamp/slip sheet equipment; load, unload, and store materials/products in designated areas.
Complete applicable paperwork (i.e. shipping/tracking labels) per standard operating procedures and applicable regulatory agencies (i.e. DOT, IATA, IMDG, etc.)
Participate in inventory/cycle count activities as needed and report variances to leadership.
Perform daily safely inspections per the Safety Checklist on forklift trucks
Ensure facility is inspection ready at all times for SQFI, FDA, and customer needs.
Communicate and report any incidents to supervisor
Ensure product rotation procedures are followed.
Review and Analyze daily production reports.
Serve as backup to other warehouse roles, as needed.
Depending on specific department other duties may apply.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED preferred and be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Minimum 2 years prior warehouse/distribution operations experience and 6 months experience related leadership or supervisory experience and/or training in a distribution environment.
Must be a licensed forklift operator or be able to obtain a Forklift Operator license.

A Brief Summary of This Position

· Place all order in the proper location upon arrival.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
· Using work and sales order documentation, maintain kit pick list policy. Coordinate and/or pull and stage parts for production, shipping, and service departments.
· Loads and unloads materials safely onto or from pallets, trucks, racks and shelves by hand and forklift and/or cranes.
· Review work orders for closure and monitor partials and completions. Report shortages immediately to supervisor. Coordinate and/or fills shortages as parts are received into inventory.
· Assist in maintaining system location codes.
· Conveys materials safely from stores, staged areas, and work centers to designated areas. When required, secures lifting attachments to materials, and safely convey loads to appropriate destinations.
· Count, weigh, and records number of units of materials moved or handled to ensure inventory accuracy.
· Safely moves and stores WIP and finished goods in appropriate locations.
· Mandatory participation required in preparation of and in physical inventory.
· Maintains and uses all appropriate PPE
· Uses material handling equipment when required
· Actively participate in accident prevention and adhere to all safety requirements
· As required, assists in other projects.

To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are:
· Must have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)0
· 0-1 year of experience required.
· Working knowledge of Material Control or Warehouse environment is preferred.
· Lifting of parts, forklift driving, and operation of cranes are required.
· Computer experience required.
· Ability to measure, read single part orthographic drawings, extract information utilizing codes, symbols, numbers and data from routings and dispatch schedules.
· Must be able to work in a dynamic work environment in which needs are constantly changing with little or no notice. Need to be very flexible and helpful.

Manufacturing Environment
Shop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock. The employee may occasionally be exposed to varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals, very warm and/or very chilly temperatures. The noise level in the shop can be very loud at times consistent with an industrial assembly facility and may require hearing protection. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Associate assists in the warehouse by crating, pulling product, and unloading trucks. Associate ensures that orders are filled accurately for customer satisfaction; ensures cartons shipped are structurally sound and suitable for sale by visually inspecting cartons, repairing and reboxing as needed.
Assist with the following aspects of warehouse operation: crating, pulling product, and unloading trucks
Load loose cartons into trucks to ensure stability during shipment
Collect wood product for the set-up and construction of crates
Build crates from wooden materials around cartons of product in preparation for shipment by flatbeds
Repair or reseal damaged cartons, or rebox product when necessary
Consolidate all accessory and siding products on storage racks when needed
Perform daily preventive maintenance and safety checks on motorized equipment
Perform warehouse maintenance and warehouse housekeeping
Perform other related duties and assignments as required
Attend scheduled staff meetings with the Distribution Supervisor, if necessary
Perform basic duties of Warehouse Associate 2 at times, based upon ability and experience
Maintain an accurate time card daily and calculate on a weekly basis
Actively participate in all plant safety programs, depending on location
Qualifications
Experience
No experience necessary; mechanical aptitude helpful
Knowledge
Basic knowledge of shipping process helpful
Mental/Physical/Visual Demands
Must have good eye/hand coordination, excellent manual dexterity including a skill to use hand and electrical tools, and an ability to read and comprehend numbers
Ability to lift up to 86 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist and lift 87 to 100 lbs with assistance
Must be detailed oriented, possess good communication skills, and interact well with others
Must be able to separate product by profiling color
Working Conditions
Warehouse environment with exposure to equipment noise, temperature extremes, and dust
Position requires continual lifting, twisting and bending
Equipment/Tools Used
Must be proficient in the use of a claw hammer, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic bander, and an electric skill saw
Safety glasses and ear plugs must be utilized as instructed
Must be willing to obtain a license to operate motorized equipment
If applicable, may need to be certified to operate a crane
Safety
Safe work performance is required from each Associate at all times
Perform all duties and responsibilities in a safe manner in accordance with applicable Health and Safety Manuals
Required to wear or use personal protective equipment as applicable and to immediately report unsafe working conditions
