The Warehouse Specialist - Video plays a key role in ensuring the readiness, quality, and accuracy of all video equipment that flows through the Brite Ideas warehouse. This is a team leader position responsible for supervising and guiding a mix of full-time and part-time warehouse employees in accomplishing daily workflows and departmental objectives. The Specialist prepares, maintains, cleans, repairs, and returns video assets while supporting Production, Technical Design, and the Warehouse Manager to ensure all equipment is show-ready and compliant with internal standards.
This role is primarily warehouse-based but may occasionally support onsite productions for load-ins, load-outs, and basic video department assistance under the direction of a Technical Director, Video Lead, or Department Head. The Specialist upholds accuracy, safety, and operational excellence while fostering a collaborative team environment and contributing to a high-performance warehouse operation.
Essential Functions
Video Specialty Duties
Prepare, test, clean, organize, and maintain video equipment, which may include the following:
LED wall panels and modules
LED processors ( Novastar)
Cameras (e.g., Blackmagic, Sony, PTZ systems)
Video switchers (e.g., ATEM, Christie Digital)
Projection systems (Epson, Christie), lenses, and filters
Playback and graphics systems
Video routers and converters
Fiber, SDI, HDMI, CAT6, and power cabling
Engineering racks, frames, and accessories
LED tile QC, module swaps, power/signal checks, and processor boot-up testing.
Camera, projector, switcher, or playback device power-up and functional checks.
Organizing, labeling, and tracking video kits, tiles, and accessories
Supporting patching, testing, and system configuration under supervision
Assisting in maintaining video documentation, labels, asset tags, and shop organization
Experience with the following product lines is a plus and may include: Brompton, Novastar, Blackmagic, ATEM, Analog Way, ROE, Absen, Barco, Panasonic, or similar video systems
Warehouse Prep, Pulls, and Returns
Prepare and assemble video gear packages per project pull sheets and technical specifications.
Verify counts, check completeness, and ensure all gear matches project requirements.
Use Flex Rental Solutions (or equivalent system) for check-in, check-out, scanning, and equipment tracking.
Maintain accuracy and accountability for all video equipment movements.
Ensure all gear is packed safely, efficiently, and professionally for transport.
Support warehouse workflow including staging, case labeling, and project consolidation.
QC, Repairs & Maintenance
Perform detailed quality control inspections for all video gear returning from shows.
Diagnose basic video issues, cables, faulty SDI or fiber runs, damaged connectors, or mislabeled components.
Perform LED tile testing, module replacement, tile alignment checks, and signal/power verification.
Build and repair SDI, HDMI, CAT6, and other video cable types as needed.
Perform connector maintenance, cleaning, and power/data cable QC.
Document gear issues, damage notes, and repair needs; escalate to Shop Specialist or Department Lead as needed.
Maintain a clean, safe, organized work environment and follow safety protocols at all times.
Cross Departmental Support & Onsite Assistance
Assist Audio, Lighting, or Rigging teams with general warehouse workflow during peak demand periods.
Support Drivers and Logistics with inbound/outbound coordination.
Onsite (occasional and as directed):
Assist with load-ins and load-outs
Run and label video, fiber, and data cables
Place cameras, LED panels, projectors, or monitors as directed
Assist with LED wall builds under Lead supervision
Assist with projection setup or alignment under Lead direction
Perform basic system or signal testing only under the supervision of a Lead or Technical Director

Requirements
Experience & Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
1-3 years of experience working with video equipment in a warehouse or production environment preferred.
Experience with Brompton, Novastar, Blackmagic, ATEM, Analog Way, ROE, Absen, Barco, Panasonic, or similar video systems is a plus.
Basic understanding of video signal flow, LED systems, projection, and routing principles preferred.
Flex Rental Solutions experience preferred but not required.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Work Environment:
This position will be split between working in or around a warehouse environment and on event show sites that may be indoors or outdoors and exposed to weather conditions, dirt or dust.

Lifting:
Must be able to lift, carry and exert force up to 75 pounds occasionally.
Vision & Hearing:
Must be able to distinguish colors, use close vision for computer screens/documents, use distance vision and have the ability to judge depth perception and spatial awareness for safety precautions.
Must be able to hear sufficiently to understand and comprehend individual conversations and listen for potential safety precautions.
Noise:
The noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate with standard business office equipment and may increase to occasional loud noise levels with large production gear or equipment moves.
