The essential functions of this job description only reflect the requirements of an employee assigned to the Pick Module. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Pick-To-Voice System - Trained to use Vocollect Unit, Headset, and Scanner. Picking An Order The employee is trained to set the system up to be able to recognize their voice; perform noise samples, retrain commands, change volume, change speaker settings and load task packages. With time, they will set the speed to the fastest level they can react to in order to confirm their pick quickly. Inducts parcels into voice system by either scanning barcode on a single box or scanning multiple boxes by using the Build Train command (up to 10 - boxes are organized phonetically Alpha through Juliet). When prompted proceeds to location, responds with location check digit, selects number of books per instruction, and confirms the number picked. Places books in correct carton (i.e. when train picking instruction is "Alpha, put 2). Push completed carton from diverted location onto conveyor Trained on use of all commands to be used. SUSPEND command to stop picking a box or a train, SKIP command to skip locations that are short on stock, ADJUST TRAIN command to either remove a carton from a train or add a carton to it, COMBINE TRAIN command to combine two trains of boxes, DESCRIPTION command to verify correct title in location and, the HOW MUCH MORE command to find out how many remaining picks there are on a carton or train. Verifies the correct stock in location when prompted by Pick To Voice by either scanning the ISBN or voicing in the last 4 digits as needed. At specified times, identifies orders by wave and plan numbers to make sure they are completed. General Duties: Read and select the proper size carton for volume and size of product to be shipped; and inserts invoice. Properly positions and affixes the labels on the carton to ensure they are oriented for the system scanners. Inspects product visually to ensure it is free of damage and the correct count before placing in the carton to be shipped. Ensures correct placement of the books in carton to allow the General Warehouse Employees in packing to carefully secure books with the proper amount of dunnage in order to prevent movement and protect the product while in transit. Records the proper adjustments for short shipments on the carton. Assists in resolving any discrepancies. WMS - Make adjustments for damaged books, stock transfers, and put-away (return product to inventory); retrieves order status information; and looks up parcels. Conforms to call Company policies and procedures (Employee Handbook) Complies with all established environmental, health and safety requirements in order to minimize injuries, loss of production time and damage. Secondary Duties: Performs cycle counts as directed. Mark locations that are short or contain damaged books for designated short pickers to correct.
