LHH is seeking a Warehouse Manager for a Direct Hire, Permanent Placement position with a manufacturing and distribution client located in Indianapolis, Indiana. This is a newly created role where you will manage a team and oversee all inbound, outbound, and warehousing operations at the facility. You will have the opportunity to lead key projects, improve processes, and make your mark on the organization. The compensation is commensurate with experience and ranges between $125,000-$140,000 per year plus bonus and includes a comprehensive benefits package, Paid Time Off, and a 401(k) plan with company match.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, plan, and oversee inbound, outbound, inventory management, and distribution center operations across all shifts
Manage and develop a team of warehouse personnel including supervisors and hourly associates
Coordinate all operational activities required for timely, accurate, and efficient storage and shipment to customer organizations
Administer performance management program and recommend training resources to support employee development
Maintain accurate inventory transaction records and perform root cause analysis to reduce and prevent future non-conformance issues
Manage compliance and ensure correct documentation for all inbound and outbound orders
Optimize warehouse layout, material flow, and slotting systems to improve efficiency and space utilization
Create and manage KPIs to monitor performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and align operations with production schedules and customer demand
Manage budgets, labor planning, and capital projects
Maintain adherence to health and safety standards such as OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other regulatory requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree is preferred
Minimum of 10+ years of warehouse operations experience is required
Minimum of 6+ years of warehouse leadership experience overseeing a team of direct reports is required
Must have experience working with an ERP and/or WMS system (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics AX, Oracle, Manhattan, Red Prairie, etc.)
Must have experience resolving/preventing safety-related issues and reportables in a warehousing and/or manufacturing setting
Must possess the ability to maintain high level of detail and integrity while executing responsibilities
Must have experience partnering with colleagues at all levels of an organization

POSITION SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Order Picking (20%):
Review daily orders and organize process for picking.
Delegate orders to team members.

Act as a resource if they are having trouble locating an item.
Ensure new associates are following safety and housekeeping protocols guide as necessary.
Provide ongoing support, training and act as escalation point.
Monitor monthly safety trainings are completed.
Assist Warehouse Manager with any necessary performance coaching plans and provide support for employee development initiatives.
5. Order Loading/Un-Loading (10%):
Assist with loading of completed orders onto trucks, delivery carriers and/or customer pickups.
Assist with order unloading of LTL Carriers and truck loads.
Perform receiving duties for orders being delivered - ensure items orders are actually received, inform purchaser of any discrepancies.
Stock items located in the warehouse or deliver to purchasing party.

About Role:
Oversee and guide day-to-day activities to ensure the team delivers high levels of process adherence and that all quality and delivery targets, specifically daily KPI's, are monitored and achieved.
Adhere and train team members to specified customer quality requirements.
Weekly audits on product to ensure product meets quality specifications.
Daily and weekly 6s inspection of department
Communication through Microsoft Teams and Outlook for daily communication to internal and external customers
Complete various reports in line with KPI's.
Attend regular operational meetings and liaise with other departments to review performance and update current progress against operational targets.
Ensure process adherence is delivered right first time to improve our operational effectiveness.
Participation in improvement activities at department/company level to enhance business performance.
Comply with all relevant internal rules, policies and procedures, including those relating to Health and Safety, Data Protection and all those contained within the issued Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual.
Undertake other duties and tasks that may be allocated that are appropriate to the job.

About You:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production reports, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple business correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively communicate information to co-workers or customers in both one-on-one and small group situations.

What you will be doing:
Coordinates daily activities within the distribution center
Supervises staff and directs work as they execute activities related to order fulfillment, order management, inventory management, stocking, material handling, equipment usage, and related needs
Prepares work schedules and reacts quickly and effectively regarding unexpected labor needs
Manages labor hours and payroll in electronic timekeeping system
Interviews and trains prospective and new team members
Supervises business support staff development including appraising performance, rewarding employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Ensures team understands and works toward performance goals
Recommends process improvements within the warehouse or distribution center
Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels
Ensures compliance to all company and customer policies and procedures including safety
Schedules work for special and periodic inventories
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and ISO9002 procedures
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of team.
Prepares reports for leadership
Assists in maintaining the physical properties of the warehouse
Submits weekly, monthly and other special services billing to customer services representatives
Supervises employees in distribution center operation in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
Other duties as required and assigned
*For food accounts, incumbent is responsible to report food safety problems to senior management to initiate action
Requirements
High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent
Minimum 3 to 5 years related warehouse and/or distribution center experience
1 year of supervisory experience preferred
Experience with warehouse equipment
Experience with warehouse management systems
Experience with labor management systems
PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
