The Supervisor directly contributes to Cardinal Health's customer service reputation by ensuring that shipments are on-time and of high quality, develops the Warehouse Operations talent pool, and enhances operational excellence. **_Responsibilities_** + Supervises the daily work assignments and performance of Group Leads and Associates. Tracks efficiency and productivity metrics to determine which tasks are behind- and ahead-of-schedule, and provides hands-on guidance to Associates to ensure that pick, pack, and ship tasks are completed correctly and safely. + Ensures that all warehouse systems are ready and schedules and prioritizes the work that each Group Lead and team of Associates will complete. Tracks employee attendance and ensures necessary employee headcount to achieve objectives. + Monitors continually productivity and quality metrics including cycle times, lines per hour, shortages, damaged units, missed dispatches, and missed scans, among others. Regularly reports on team performance to the Manager, Warehouse Operations. + Determines the productivity or safety issue root cause and directs supervised staff on resolving the issue and maintaining operations. Promptly and thoroughly documents the issue and communicates the root cause and resolution to the Manager, Supervisors, and other internal stakeholders as necessary. + Proactively identifies opportunities to improve operations and mitigate risks within supervised team and broader warehouse operations. Provides input into operational excellence initiatives and ensures that there are implemented correctly within own area. + Conducts performance evaluations and provides one-on-one feedback to encourage Associates' development. Identifies Associates capable of working as Group Leads. Warehouse Attendant REPORTS TO: Materials/Warehouse Supervisor Under general supervision, performs a variety of warehouse duties that may include pulling/checking customer orders, replenishment, shipping, and material handling. Will use automated warehouse management system. Will be responsible for receiving incoming orders into the system. Will be responsible to ensure incoming counts are accurate. May operate hand and power equipment for material handling to accommodate storage of product throughout warehouse. Performs secondary operations such as cutting and chamfering. SPECIFIC JOB FUNCTIONS: Receives material as delivered by various carriers ensuring that paperwork is correct. Process / Receive incoming orders into companies database and advise of discrepancies real time. Picks material from stock or floor locations according to job prioritizations. Delivers material to Operating Cells following prescribed practice or instruction. Performs inventories using scales or manual methods. Counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments and verifies/records against packing slips. Packages shipments using care with appropriate containers, protective inserts/padding, etc. Loads and unloads material and goods from incoming trucks using material handling equipment. Moves, stores and spaces materials as directed. Inspects/maintains warehouse equipment and supplies. Assemble wooden or cardboard containers. Cuts material on vertical band saw. Chamfers material on grinder or belt sander. Uses hand truck to transport materials. Receives training on use of power truck and other powered material handling equipment. Share information and collaborate for process improvement throughout the shop. Accurately count pieces of material. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. Performs all work safely and efficiently. Performs other tasks or duties as assigned by Management SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to perform tasks with a full range of motion from kneeling, crouched, stooped, bent at the waist, upright and arms fully extended overhead. Must be able to lift, push, pull, up to 75 pounds. Visual acuity and accommodation are required for reading orders, machine dial gauges and precision measuring instruments. Hearing ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action. Must demonstrate to management the willingness to perform. Requires issuing materials or returning material in a real-time basis via RF technology to/from work-orders. Check or count freight for accuracy and/or damage and infestation. Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained. Ensure proper stock rotation via FIFO principles. Must haves: Knowledge of inventory control systems and processes and the ability to utilize for daily activities. Experienced in Fork Lift truck operation. Able to work in Cold Storage environments with temperatures ranging from 24 degrees Fahrenheit to -10 degrees Fahrenheit. Ability to communicate effectively with Freight suppliers, Import/Export, Freight forwarders, Packaging/Corrugated vendors, Manufacturing personnel, Customer Service, Engineering, Finance and other company personnel as required. Knowledge of Warehousing processes and how these processes can be integrated into existing company practices and requirements. Ability to analyze and reconcile inventory variances. Ability to maintain an accurate and well-organized warehouse and receiving/shipping dock.
