What you will do: The Shipping Supervisor will maintain open communications with internal/external contacts. Coordinate with the team on all freight rate exceptions. Supervise loading of trucks in accordance with the written load plan. Conduct load verification and/or blind tallies and supervise corrections when needed. Ensure forklift drivers perform daily operator's checks and fill fuel tanks at the beginning of the shift. Supervise the pre-staging of lumber for special orders, Conduct daily spot inventory of the warehouse and perform inventory adjustments when needed. Obtain weekly run schedule from Planer Supervisor and relay information to Sales in a timely manner. Print daily reports and ensure correct distribution and daily shipping values balance. Coordinate efforts between departments to ensure inventory is stored in a safe, clean, and orderly manner. Minimum Requirements you will need: High School Diploma or GED Communication skills, in-person and over the phone, are required to interact with internal & external customers, trucking companies, etc. Work well independently Handle multivariate responsibilities and meet deadlines Perform manual tasks, which include bending, stooping, walking on various surfaces, lifting, and/or reaching Ability to determine different grades of lumber by their stamps.
