Great Lakes Wine and Spirits is a growing statewide company seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to work the Night Shift at one of our depots in Metro Detroit. Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee operational performance by assisting and covering fellow managers and supervisors with daily assignments, taking into account: volume, call-offs, and employee training needs. To facilitate this, proper communication with management and fellow team members is crucial. Other duties include, but are not limited to: * Mitigating and monitoring: careless behavior, breakage, idle & over-time, and excessive or inappropriate supply usage * Following safety, security guidelines as communicated, pertaining but not limited to: cleanliness, PPE compliance, biomechanical techniques, potential hazards, MHE certs, suspicious activity and theft * Opening/closing/resetting work areas and/or buildings as dictated by protocol * Auditing work area drops zones to ensure product is physically and electronically handled correctly * Surveying assigned work area(s) daily to identify & correct issues that aren't in line with shift/company goals regularly throughout the shift * Ensuring work area SOPs / responsibilities are properly and timely addressed As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will also be responsible for maintaining logs pertinent to payroll and employee information as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to: * Verifying punches, approving overtime, and recording leave via daily / weekly inputs * Assisting with hiring, reprimanding and discharging for direct reports under management supervision * Authoring and submitting injury, disciplinary and any other assigned forms in a timely manner following company standards and protocols Warehouse Supervisors will also train, develop, lead, counsel, delegate and performance coach to ensure our nightly objectives are met. Other duties include, but are not limited to: * Conducting team meetings on subject matter delegated by Warehouse Management, as well as HR and Safety * Monitoring and maximizing employee engagement via recognition and accountability interactions with direct reports * Ensuring safety guidelines are communicated and followed by direct reports * Ensuring equipment assigned to or required by direct reports is maintained, available and functioning properly Work Environment & Physical Demands: The Warehouse Supervisor will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations where noise levels can be loud. This position also requires to be very active and may frequently be standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the day. Items will weigh up to 50 pounds that will require frequent lifting, stacking, moving and rotating without handles and pushing/pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force. Work Schedule This position works the Night Shift, Sunday through Thursday, and occasionally Fridays based on business needs and holiday schedule. Shipping Warehouse Associate Job Summary: Pull and prepare customer orders for shipment or pickup while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment. Meet or exceed customer expectations by contributing to a positive customer experience. Learn and navigate the warehouse/yard layout, bin location system, and product Etna stocks. Handle all materials, products, and equipment with care to prevent damage. Accurately gather and assemble materials for shipment or counter pick-up. Duties and Responsibilities * Performs daily activities for an assigned shift or within an assigned area or function. * Adheres to specific warehouse work instructions for receiving, labeling, storing, shipping and value add services as required in accordance to DSV Air & Sea standard policies and procedures. * Meets company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, quality, leadership, and customer service. * Works with the supervisor, warehouse manager and freight forwarding teams to identify areas to improve/enhance overall service to the client. * Unloads inbound shipments safely and move products to the correct destination. Efficiently stage, stack and load the merchandise in the appropriate areas * Efficiently moves product from staging and/or unloading areas into the correct load door and the assigned trailer. Segregate, check, and stage inbound product correctly. * Verifies the driver, trailer, and bills are all for that specific carrier and location. Counts freight with the driver and ensures all requirements are followed. Loads the trailer for safe transit and ensures the driver signs all required paperwork. * Performs all Forklift activities as required.
