Job Summary: The Shipping and Receiving Forklift Operator moves finished product from the production line to its proper warehouse location, as well as load and unload truckload and LTL trucks according to shipment bills of lading, packing list, or invoices, as well as other duties as assigned. Daily you will be expected to safely, successfully and accurately load and unload truckload and LTL trucks according to shipment bills of lading, packing lists or invoices. Duties and Responsibilities: Successfully operates a forklift while complying with all safety standards, regulations and operating procedures Ensure all finished product complies with company packaging and pallet standards prior to shipping. Safely, successfully and accurately load and unload semi-trailers according to shipment bills of lading, packing lists or invoices. Ensure all product shipment accurately labels according to company and customer specifications. Successfully works with Logistics Manager to ensure all finished product, rework product and production supplies are stored and maintained in their correct locations Monitors and examines equipment to ensure a safe and efficient operation. Notifies Logistics Manager of any issues or problems. Performs all required equipment cleaning and maintains a clean, safe working environment. Participates in training, retraining and continual improvement processes and methods. Follows and complies with all company safety standards, work rules and regulations. Performs other duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities: High School Diploma or GED, required. 2-4 years shipping/receiving experience operating a forklift in an industrial operations environment, required. Proven ability to successfully and safely operate a forklift, required. Familiarity with how a forklift operates and possesses the ability to help identify any general operating issues or problems. Ability to read and comprehend written and oral instructions, safety rules, bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and warehouse layout diagrams. Proven ability of maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Must be able to effectively communicate one-on-one and in small group situations. Successfully operate a wide variety of hand tools and computer equipment Strong willingness to work hard, reliable, attentive and attention to detail. Ability to stand and move around for long periods of time. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs., required. Education and Experience: Prior experience in the tire recycling or manufacturing industry is a plus. Compensation: $17.50 hourly. Paid bi-weekly.
