The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of plumbing practices, demonstrate proficiency in operating excavators and other heavy equipment, and prioritize safety and precision in all work. Tasks and Responsibilities: Operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently to dig trenches, backfill excavations, and perform other earthmoving tasks according to project specifications and safety regulations. Interpret blueprints, site plans, and work orders to understand excavation requirements and ensure accurate digging depths and dimensions for plumbing installations. Collaborate closely with plumbers and other team members to coordinate excavation activities with plumbing work, ensuring efficient workflow and minimizing delays. Perform pre-operation checks on equipment, including inspecting fluid levels, hoses, tracks, and safety features, and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns. Conduct routine maintenance on equipment, such as lubricating parts and cleaning, and assist with minor repairs as needed. Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as OSHA regulations, to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others. Ensure proper shoring and sloping of trenches as required by safety regulations. Accurately backfill trenches and compact soil to ensure proper support for plumbing lines and restoration of the work area. Assist plumbers with tasks such as laying pipe, connecting fittings, and ensuring proper pipe alignment as needed. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including the equipment and job site. Communicate effectively with supervisors, plumbers, and other team members regarding project progress, potential issues, and safety concerns. Follow all traffic laws and regulations when operating equipment on public roads (if applicable). Complete daily equipment logs and other required documentation accurately. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Qualifications: Proven experience minimum 4 years operating excavators and other heavy equipment, preferably within the plumbing or construction industry. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must have your own vehicle Certification or demonstrated competency in operating relevant heavy equipment. Strong understanding of plumbing trenching and backfilling techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and work orders. Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to excavation work (OSHA standards). Ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and identify potential mechanical issues. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong work ethic and attention to detail. Physical ability to perform the essential functions of the job, including lifting, bending, and working in various weather conditions. Work may involve uneven terrain and potential hazards associated with construction sites, including trenches, heavy machinery, and underground utilities. What You'll Be Doing: * Operating and monitoring furnace and palletizer equipment to maintain proper temperature, feed rates, and product flow. * Loading raw materials into the furnace and ensuring correct material mixtures according to production specifications. * Inspecting product quality at various stages and adjusting machinery as needed to maintain standards. * Monitoring system controls, recording data, and reporting any deviations or malfunctions to the supervisor, engineering, and maintenance. * Performing routine maintenance, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment. * Stacking, wrapping, and labeling pallets according to company standards and preparing them for storage or shipment. * Ensuring the work area is kept clean, safe, and organized. * Following all safety procedures, including PPE requirements and lockout/tagout processes. * Collaborating with team members and other departments to ensure smooth production flow. * Assisting with inventory control and material tracking as required. We are looking for someone who: * Has a High school diploma or GED required. * Possesses previous manufacturing or machine operation experience, preferred. * Can display basic mechanical skills and ability to use hand tools. * Is able to read and interpret production instructions, safety guidelines, and quality specifications. * Has a strong attention to detail and possesses the ability to multitask. Physical Requirements: * Is able to move up to 50lbs. * Possesses the manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately. * Can wear PPE. * Comfortable standing for long periods of time, up to and exceeding 60 minutes. * Is capable of making repetitive movements, including, but not limited to, sitting, squatting, and walking up and down stairs. * Has a willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, if required. * Is comfortable with exposure to high temperatures, noise, and moving machinery.
