Our Senior Transportation Managers play a crucial role in exceeding expectations and providing a superb customer experience; critical to Amazon's success, which is built on a foundation of customer obsession, and innovation. The Senior Transportation Manager is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the TOM teams within a specific node and may include responsibilities for stand-alone sites as well. Strategic Responsibilities & Deliverables:
- Owns and delivers the operational budget for functional area, including safety, productivity, financial and labor planning, and operational goals for TOM
- Responsible for providing strategic level/long-term planning (3, 6, and 12 months out) including labor planning, forecasting, and peak season planning
- Drives continuous improvement projects to optimize operations and improve productivity to meet and exceed business objectives; works on strategic projects that have total building and network-wide impact. Effectively leverages the Operations and Area Managers to solicit ideas and understand problems and challenges in the building.
- Networks with other leaders across the network to solicit and share process improvements and drive efficiencies and cost savings.
- Establishes objectives and metrics for safety, quality, productivity, and customer experience
- Sets clear goals and expectations for Operations and Area Managers. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds leaders accountable
- Mentors and develops leaders and staff
- Participates in recruiting to identify and evaluate associates and internal/external candidates for promotion and hire.
- Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Safety, IT and other leaders) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives
Basic Qualifications
- A completed Bachelor's Degree in a technical field from an accredited university, or 2 years of Amazon experience
- 7+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production, distribution, or logistics environment
- Experience with performance metrics, process improvement, and Lean methodologies
- Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations
- Candidates must be flexible to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering, Operations or related technical field; MBA or Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
- Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situation

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Terminal Manager's primary objective is to manage the unloading, truck loading, and distribution/storage activities for the assigned terminal(s). Handle special assignments or projects as directed by the District Manager or General Manager.
Recommend the hiring and termination of personnel. Interview and select potential employees.
Close coordination of activities with cement plant personnel and operations.
Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Education: Bachelor's degree
Required Work Experience:
3-5 years in a operations or maintenance position in the cement, concrete, or aggregate industry.
1-3 years in a supervisory, Terminal Manager in training or lead person role.
1-3 years of hands-on maintenance experience
Required Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of computer software and Microsoft preferred. SAP experience would be a plus.
Additional Requirements:
Possess the tact and diplomacy needed for customer, trucker and employee communications.
Operate terminal equipment and perform all tasks, physical and mental, when instructing or training employees and in emergency conditions.
Able to climb ladders and stairs.

Minimum qualifications

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent certification required. Possession of applicable state requisites for employment.
Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Three (3) years of continuous law enforcement related experience which includes at least two (2) years as a lead supervisor or supervisor OR successful completion of GEO's Supervision Training Course (certificate must be provided.)
Demonstrated leadership experience.
Must have completed an approved training program resulting in a certification of satisfactory completion in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.

* Ensuring data entry is correct always. Coding errors on service failures need to be minimal. Fleet Managers will be responsible for 99.5% data entry accuracy.
* Responsible to ensure your driver turnover stays in the ideal range. The ideal range will vary month by month, but preventable turnover should never exceed 60%.
* Utilization, mileage may vary as well, depending on the month. Utilization overall should be 310-326 MPU per day. In case of dedicated freight your MPU goal may be adjusted to fit the expectation of that specific business unit.
* On-time Service- Service failures should be minimal. It is your responsibility to communicate to the driver the customers expectations.
* Overall safety- Hours of service, unsafe driving, and overall CSA scores will affect your bonus potential.
3 Make sure drivers are current on preventative maintenance on their trucks.
4 Update drivers on road conditions and restrictions as communicated by the Safety Department.
5 Communicate to HR in a timely manner on Drivers Medical Conditions or attendance issues.
5. Handling driver complaints and ensuring complaints are escalated to the appropriate person or department and handled in a timely manner.
6. Work with Load Planners and other Fleet Managers to plan future workload.
7. Work with Service and Breakdown departments to adequately maintain equipment and meet service schedules.
8. Must be able to think strategically and plan ahead of rapidly changing situations while maintaining a positive team-oriented attitude.
