Inspects the physical condition of the warehouse and equipment. Communicates the need for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment. Collaborates with other distribution centers and business leaders to ensure coordination of all business. Participates in employee safety and plant protection activities. Provides leadership, ensures adherence to company practices and procedures, applies corrective action when needed. Interviews, trains, and retains staff. Conducts performance monitoring of staff, initiates follow through with disciplinary action when appropriate for the department. Mentors, motivates, and develops staff and serves as a role model and resource to them Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge / Skills / Abilities: Excellent attention to detail and strong motivation toward company, team, and individual results. Ability to work effectively with others as well as build and maintain appropriate interpersonal relationships. Must be able to read, analyze, present, and interpret written documentation. Ability to respond to questions from groups of managers, Must have good time management and organizational skills. Must have a good understanding of USDA regulations. Ability to solve business problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule formats. Employees in all warehouse positions must be able to immediately perceive auditory warning signals such as bells, alarms, and horns that are used to warn employees of the start-up, movement, or approach of equipment (including forklifts, turrets, overhead cranes, conveyors, trucks, and other equipment operated inside or outside the warehouse), mechanical abnormalities, and similar risk situations during warehouse operations.
