Performs all necessary training of warehouse procedures to all warehouse personnel.
Motivates warehouse employees to result in high levels of productivity.
Maintains a positive Company profile in supporting communication of supervisor with customers, vendors, etc.
Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 5 years of warehousing experience within an industrial setting.

The Shuttles and Transportation Manager is responsible for employee and operational management of the various transit operations including fixed shuttle lines, RIDES, and on demand. The Manager also assists and supports the Motor pool operation in the absence of the Safety Manager and the Assistant Shuttles and Transportation Manager. When needed, the Shuttles and Transportation Manager will also drive vehicles, as assigned, to ensure minimal service disruptions. Scope of Responsibility:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the movement, organization and distribution of materials and supplies, from the inventory storage area through the delivery of those materials and supplies to the production work areas within the plant ensuring efficient workflow and space utilization. The ideal candidate will have experience in material handling within a manufacturing environment and possess a strong attention to detail.
Essential Duties:
* Supervise and coordinate the activities of all material handlers, including those that load and unload materials for that location/division, ensuring that they adhere to established safety protocols and also ensuring efficient processes.
* Work closely with Plant Manager and operational leadership to ensure that the appropriate materials and supplies are delivered to the correct production area in a timely and efficient manner.
* Provide thoughtful and timely feedback to Plant Manager and operational leadership on issues or concerns impacting production or execution items.
* Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for material handling and inventory management.
* Safely load, unload, and transport steel materials within the facility using forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment.
* Organize and store materials in designated areas, ensuring proper identification and labeling to maintain inventory accuracy.
* Monitor stock levels and report discrepancies to the Inventory Supervisor.
* Coordinating with Inventory personnel to ensure that the correct materials are delivered to production areas in a timely and efficient manner.
* Perform routine maintenance and inspections on material handling equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
* Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs.
* Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
* Participate in regular safety training and equipment inspections.
* Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to the Plant Manger immediately.
* Train and mentor material handling staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are properly trained in operating material handling equipment and following safety protocols.
* Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to streamline material handling operations, reduce costs, and increase efficiency.
* Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and cycle checks of WIP to ensure accurate stock levels.
* Record and track material movements using the company's ERP system.
* Assist in the preparation and staging of materials for production orders.
* Equipment Utilization: Overseeing the use of hand trucks, forklifts, or other handling equipment to move materials within the facility.
* Coordinate with the production team to deliver materials promptly and support continuous production operations.
* Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure alignment with production schedules.
* Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for quality and damage, reporting any issues to the appropriate department.
* Ensure that materials meet the required specifications and standards before delivery to production.
* Additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates with an associate's degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
Experience: Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar role within a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment is preferred with strong attention to detail.
