    The Warehouse Assistant is responsible for overseeing the 1st and 2nd shift day to day operations. Keep immediate manager fully informed of all matters of significance and takes prompt corrective action where necessary or suggest alternatives. Perform all necessary management functions to effectively and efficiently manage the personnel assigned. Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, performance management and firing of warehouse personnel. Communicate areas of accountability and performance expected of personnel assigned. Create and maintain a positive working environment to promote employee morale and productivity. Maintain inventory control. Ensures pulling orders with 100% accuracy and package safely to load on trucks. Ensures the loading and unloading of trucks daily. Receiving and checking accuracy of inventory received from vendors. Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness of all work areas. Ensure dock areas, outside dock areas, break areas, bathrooms are organized, clean, free of debris, and in good working condition. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and effective manner in accordance with established company policies to achieve the overall objectives of this position. Perform other duties and responsibilities as required. Supervisory Responsibility: This position helps supervise under the management of the Warehouse Manager all warehouse employees. Physical and Work Environment: Must be able to work in a warehouse environment (inside/outside). Ability to work in a cold freezer below -20 degrees. Lifting, standing, reaching, climbing is required on an ongoing basis. Must be able to lift to 50 pounds. Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma / GED Equivalent. A four-year degree from an accredited college, preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a frozen and refrigerated warehouse or distribution center. Knowledge of shelf dates / rotations on items. Strong work ethic and professionalism. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong leadership skills.     Job Description DUTIES MAY INCLUDE: General warehousing tasks, customer support, requisition, shipping, receiving, building medical kits, inventory management, Quality Assurance (QA) and cargo preparation and deployment, to include medical controlled items stored in a secure location, operation of various materials handling equipment, and utilizing updating DoD MMIS records. This is a training unit, therefore administrative duties will include assisting with scheduling students for courses, tracking equipment and gear loaned to students, tracking training requirements, and other office administrative tasks to help keep the unit efficient. Additionally, must be able to work independently (single location sites) managing time wisely, coordinating logistics activities with other base organizations, units, and government agencies, ensuring the overall readiness and availability of unit ECMM to include general medical materiel management and warehouse activities, and other duties as assigned. The position is designed for a Medical Materiel professional with a skillset critical to performing program management and oversight, effective communication at all levels, small team collaboration, and strategic readiness reporting. Requirements Minimum/General Experience: Eight years of medical logistics field experience with six years of specialized medical materiel management experience. Specialized experience shall include general supply activities, ordering, receiving, customer support, inventory management, assemblage management, warehousing, and operation of various materials handling equipment. The specialized experience shall be in a healthcare or healthcare support environment or setting. Must have experience in using and running transactions in the MMIS. This position is designed for a Medical Materiel professional with a skillset critical to performing program management and oversight, effective communication at all levels, integrated collaboration, strategic readiness reporting, and the ability to work independently. Minimum Education Requirement: Accredited Associate's Degree or higher or eight years of medical logistics field experience with six years of specialized medical materiel management experience.
