Work to ensure all bus drivers are in compliance with the following list of rules and regulations and to provide periodic training/reviews of these rules.
Train drivers to be CDL licensed (obtain training certification if necessary).
Make appropriate changes to the bus schedule on a daily basis.
Work closely and cooperatively with the bus drivers, bus aides, and contracted bus drivers in the development of efficient and effective schedules.
Promptly respond to parent/guardian inquiries, requests, and complaints in a professional and confidential manner.
Collect bus incident and accident reports, following up using the appropriate administrative process.
Observe all safety regulations and procedures, and notify management of such concerns if encountered.
Obey all traffic laws.
Maintains discipline when students are on the bus.
Reports undisciplined students to the proper authority.
Keep the assigned bus clean.
Must perform pre-trip inspection per CDL/Bus Endorsement regulations.
Notifies proper authority in case of mechanical failure issues.
Discharge students only at authorized stops.
Exercise responsible leadership when on out of district trips.
Transports only authorized students.
Reports all accidents and completes required reports.
Enforces regulations on prohibited behaviors.
Use discretion in discussing school affairs, recognizing the value of positive school-community relations.
Comply with Board and administrative policies, regulations, and procedures and reinforces students doing the same.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Participate productively in staff meetings and professional committees; participate in scheduled inservice days.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
Minimum Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience
Required:Valid Vermont driver's license.
Required: Class B CDL, Type 1 Bus Endorsement (air brakes) and Passenger Endorsement.
Required: Five years experience as a CDL licensed bus driver.
Required: Valid Federal DOT Medical Card
Preferred: Two years of experience working in management.
Personnel management experience including team leadership experience, with a preference for experience hiring, training, managing, and evaluating employees, and experience with labor relations and union environments.
Familiar with laws and regulations governing education in Vermont (preferred).
