Position Overview: This is a supervisory position in an Inspection Center overseeing a team carrying out daily operations within a Carvana Inspection Center.. The Reconditioning Manager oversees all aspects of the vehicle reconditioning process and directs at least five leads and up to 70 front line associates in a lean manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and high associate engagement while meeting quality, production, and cost objectives. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. What you'll be doing: • Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center. • Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through appropriate coaching, leadership development and training, and performance management. • Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans, goals, and objectives, ensuring alignment with those of the company. • Ensure adherence to operating standards, systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards. • Create a work and team environment that inspires positive communication, team cohesion, and adherence to Carvana's Values. • Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. • Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed. • Train and mentor leads and associates by providing competency-based feedback. • Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning. • Ensure compliance with all health and safety and loss prevention guidelines. • Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team in meeting performance metrics. • Positively reinforce and engage the team regarding quality, production and cost objectives. • Participate in and lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts. What the job requires: To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you. • 5 years of management experience either in automotive or a lean manufacturing environment. • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. • Experience leading and developing associates. • Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics. • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUIs and no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years). • Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment. • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills. • Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results • Strong analysis and decision making ability. • Proficient computer skills. • Ability to work overtime and on weekends. • Ability to walk up to three miles each day. • Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance. • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels. • Requires use of safety equipment and PPO that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment. Campfire Cycling is a bikepacking-focused bike shop and ecommerce store based in downtown Tucson. The basement of our bike shop serves as our ecommerce fulfillment center where we handle office work, warehouse inventory, and pack and ship orders. ***Know someone who'd be perfect? While the bike shop side focuses on bicycle repair, in-person sales, and community building, the ecommerce side is focused on using our computer systems to efficiently manage the flow of inventory while providing excellent service to our online customers. We want someone who thrives in organizational systems and keeping multiple processes running in sync. In this position you will manage our ecom/shop support who spends half their time in ecommerce as well as managing our catalog content writer's product uploading processes. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling customer service, online bicycle sales and order preprocessing. Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, you'll manage purchasing, inventory accounting, warehouse organization, vendor relations, shipping account management and processing warranties. Online bike sales must be queued up for mechanics to build and test before being broken down and shipped. Supplies and special orders for the bike shop need to be separated from ecommerce inventory. Checking in with the sales team on inventory issues is also essential. Some of the more physical aspects include regularly hauling inventory up and down stairs. Generally boxes are under 50 pounds, but this also includes handling large bike boxes. Other tasks include reorganizing inventory, moving shelves, putting away new stock, breaking down boxes, and hauling them to recycling. Given the small size of our business and the critical importance of smooth operations, Josh will be closely involved in training and ongoing strategy and oversight. What you'll do as a Distribution Supervisor: * Direct and motivate teammates. * Communicate company and division information to teammates. * Listen, address and follow-up to teammate concerns, questions and problems. * Facilitate communication within the warehouse leadership team and between division/warehouse leadership and teammates. * Understand DC goals and standards, implement department procedures to meet those standards, and promote them to and gain buy-in and positive results from teammates; standards may include but will not be limited to: productivity, order quality, damages, shrinkage, safety, sanitation, turnover and overtime. * Ensure department and warehouse procedures will cut unnecessary costs, add value for customers, and improve morale and the work environment for teammates. * Ensure the work environment is maintained in a clean and safe manner following government, company and Silliker standards. * Supervise and manage daily work of department teammates. * Create and maintain schedules and job assignments of department teammates. * Maintain all departmental paperwork. * Provide training as needed to maintain an efficient and knowledgeable workforce. * Provide coaching/corrective action, training and development for teammates. * Enforce all Distribution Center policies and issue coaching/corrective action as needed. * Ensure adherence to proper operational and safety procedures. * Be a visible and a vocal advocate for safety. * Relieve other supervisor(s) during their vacations. * Comply with company work and safety rules. * Be trained and certified to operate any required equipment within 30 days after hire. * Maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the changing needs of the Distribution Center; work schedules may require working an early shift, staying long for a late shift, and weekend work depending on the customer and operational requirements of the division. * Work in warm and cold temperature conditions that may range from 38°F to 110°F; a supervisor assigned to the freezer must be able to periodically work in temperatures as cold as -10°F. * Periodically stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp and reach above the head as needed. * Other duties may be assigned. Qualifications you'll bring as a Distribution Supervisor: * High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. * A bachelor's degree is preferred. * Have 2 years distribution warehouse experience, preferably in the grocery industry. * Have experience leading large numbers of warehouse staff with experience in hiring, training, motivating and resolving employee relation's issues. * Have computer knowledge to include experience using Microsoft Word and Excel. * Demonstrate the ability to lead by example. * Possess good written and verbal communication skills. * Be willing to listen and respond to teammates. * Have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and teammates. * Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. * This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
