Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee operational performance by assisting and covering fellow managers and supervisors with daily assignments, taking into account: volume, call-offs, and employee training needs. To facilitate this, proper communication with management and fellow team members is crucial. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Mitigating and monitoring: careless behavior, breakage, idle & over-time, and excessive or inappropriate supply usage Following safety, security guidelines as communicated, pertaining but not limited to: cleanliness, PPE compliance, biomechanical techniques, potential hazards, MHE certs, suspicious activity and theft Opening/closing/resetting work areas and/or buildings as dictated by protocol Auditing work area drops zones to ensure product is physically and electronically handled correctly Surveying assigned work area(s) daily to identify & correct issues that aren't in line with shift/company goals regularly throughout the shift Ensuring work area SOPs / responsibilities are properly and timely addressed As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will also be responsible for maintaining logs pertinent to payroll and employee information as needed. Other duties include but are not limited to: Verifying punches, approving overtime, and recording leave via daily / weekly inputs Assisting with hiring, reprimanding and discharging for direct reports under management supervision Authoring and submitting injury, disciplinary and any other assigned forms in a timely manner following company standards and protocols Warehouse Supervisors will also train, develop, lead, counsel, delegate and performance coach to ensure our nightly objectives are met. Other duties include, but are not limited to: Conducting team meetings on subject matter delegated by Warehouse Management, as well as HR and Safety Monitoring and maximizing employee engagement via recognition and accountability interactions with direct reports Ensuring safety guidelines are communicated and followed by direct reports Ensuring equipment assigned to or required by direct reports is maintained, available and functioning properly Work Environment & Physical Demands: The Warehouse Supervisor will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations where noise levels can be loud. This position also requires to be very active and may frequently be standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the day. Items will weigh up to 50 pounds that will require frequent lifting, stacking, moving and rotating without handles and pushing/pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force. Work Schedule This position works the Night Shift, Sunday through Thursday, and occasionally Fridays based on business needs and holiday schedule. Pay & Benefits At least $60,000 - $75,000 per year (paid semi-monthly). Potential quarterly bonuses up to 2.5% of annual salary ($1,500 - $2,125 per quarter). Participate in and assist staff in completion of all necessary annual mandatory training and competency testing with regard to the performance of job duties In conjunction with the Director of Transportation, develop and monitor the budget related to the Transportation Department Develop and maintain transportation metrics as assigned Conduct semi-annual and annual performance reviews for all transportation staff Oversee and approve payroll time sheets bi-weekly Performs other related duties as necessary, assigned or requested by Director of Transportation JOB REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in business management or related field preferred. Three years' work experience in related field and/or supervision/management of five or more staff. Must demonstrate basic computer competencies; able to develop competency with new software as needed Strong verbal and written communication Strong business acumen relative to a management role Must be able to thrive in team-based environment Must be able to problem solve and provide timely solutions independently Must be able to problem solve and provide timely solutions in a collaborative team environment Must demonstrate the ability to handle pressure and remain resolute Experience with Transportation Information Systems Must possess or develop knowledge of transporting individuals with special needs Demonstration of progressive leadership ability is highly desirable A valid, unrestricted, Michigan Commercial Driver's License (Class B, Passenger endorsement) and a driving record that falls into an acceptable category, according to Corporate Insurance standards or receive endorsement within six months of employment Demonstration of progressive leadership ability is highly desirable. The ability to lift and/or carry 50 pounds or more. Must meet a standardized set of competencies (approved by CMS) after working independently. Must be medically cleared for communicable diseases and have all immunizations up-to-date after engaging in direct participant contact
