Position Overview:
This is a supervisory position in an Inspection Center overseeing a team carrying out daily operations within a Carvana Inspection Center.. The Reconditioning Manager oversees all aspects of the vehicle reconditioning process and directs at least five leads and up to 70 front line associates in a lean manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and high associate engagement while meeting quality, production, and cost objectives.

What you'll be doing:
Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through appropriate coaching, leadership development and training, and performance management.
Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans, goals, and objectives, ensuring alignment with those of the company.
Ensure adherence to operating standards, systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards.

What the job requires:
To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.
5 years of management experience either in automotive or a lean manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Experience leading and developing associates.
Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years

Key Responsibilities
Company Operations:
Team Management: Manage and provide leadership to diverse group of team members, including warehouse staff and individual store personnel. Includes hiring and onboarding, attendance, disciplinary actions, and occasional backup support to managers during employee absences.
Building Maintenance and Operating Supplies: Manage building maintenance throughout ACS in coordination with store managers and the Director of Finance. Coordinate and manage equipment and technology purchases and maintenance.
Fleet Management: Manage FMCSA & DOT regulations along with procurement and maintenance of company vehicles.
Shipping: Manage transfer process between main warehouse and store locations. Process UPS and LTL shipments.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short-term and long-term operational plans aligned with the company's overall strategic goals.
Supply Chain Management:
Procurement: Set up new parts, create and receive purchase orders as needed, and communicate with vendors on discrepancies.
Inventory Management: Conduct inventory audits as needed to investigate discrepancies. Work with store locations on maintaining appropriate stock levels. Control disposition of expired/damaged products. Manage hazardous waste disposal and IDEM filings.
Physical Inventory: Conduct year-end physical inventory at several locations, coordinate physical inventories at smaller locations, and report totals to management team.
Vendor Relations: Work with vendors for product returns and recalls. Meet with manufacturer representatives as needed. Manage and submit vendor invoices for miscellaneous needs.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Regulatory Compliance: Manage OSHA, IDEM, and other regulatory compliance needs, coordinate employee accident procedures, and manage fork truck maintenance and certifications. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate operational risks and develop contingency plans for potential disruptions. Ensure coverage for absences.
Safety Management: Identify, evaluate, and control hazards to ensure safe and healthy working environment. Thoroughly investigate all accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
Employee training: Provide comprehensive safety training to all employees. Ensure that managers understand their role in safety management and are equipped to promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, preferably in the automotive and industrial coatings industry.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and distribution operating systems.

What You Will Do:
Determine priorities of daily workload for value stream
Determine overtime needs, determine priorities when resources are insufficient, and decide when disciplinary action is necessary
Manage employee hours through appropriate time keeping system
Ensure production meets safety, quality, velocity, and cost standards
Ensure necessary parts and materials are ordered and distributed in a timely and efficient manner
Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency
Work to improve processes, timeliness and reduce costs by eliminating non-value added activities
Ensure preventive maintenance is performed according to schedule
Implement various corporate initiatives such as 5S, Lean Manufacturing, 6 Sigma, Internal Certification, etc
Monitor and improvs safety in the warehouse; eliminating any unsafe operations and ensuring a safe and clean warehouse environment
Evaluate, assess, and identify training needs of the workforce
Ensure training and effective utilization of work force
Must be able to work overtime as required

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

Experience Required
* Bachelor's degree with 2-3 or more years of warehouse/distribution/supply chain operations management experience; OR
* High school diploma/GED plus 5-7 or more years of warehouse/distribution/supply chain operations management experience
* Experience working and managing a WMS (warehouse management system)
* Experience working within a continuous improvement and/or project management environment
* Intermediate experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams

Position Brand Description:
Receiving, storage, and shipping of raw materials and packaging components in support of Lilly manufacturing sites (Both US and OUS customers). Ensure materials are available and on hand for weekly production operations and ensure inventory quantities are accurate. Key Objectives / Deliverables:

* Certified to operate all types of powered industrial trucks.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Position Overview:
This is a supervisory position in an Inspection Center overseeing a team carrying out daily operations within a Carvana Inspection Center.. The Reconditioning Manager oversees all aspects of the vehicle reconditioning process and directs at least five leads and up to 70 front line associates in a lean manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for maintaining a culture of continuous improvement and high associate engagement while meeting quality, production, and cost objectives.

Oversee day-to-day operations within the Inspection Center.
Provide mentoring and accountability to direct reports and succession planning through appropriate coaching, leadership development and training, and performance management.
Participate in the development and execution of strategic plans, goals, and objectives, ensuring alignment with those of the company.
Ensure adherence to operating standards, systems, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
Create a work and team environment that inspires positive communication, team cohesion, and adherence to Carvana's Values.
Maintain supervisory staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
Ensure progression path training and certification processes are consistently executed.
Train and mentor leads and associates by providing competency-based feedback.
Ensure adequate production capacity levels for each line and assist with production planning.
Ensure compliance with all health and safety and loss prevention guidelines.
Provide vision and guidance to the reconditioning team in meeting performance metrics.
Positively reinforce and engage the team regarding quality, production and cost objectives.

What the job requires:
To be able to do your job at Carvana, there are some basic requirements we want to share with you.
5 years of management experience either in automotive or a lean manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Experience leading and developing associates.
Proven ability to obtain project deliverables and company metrics.
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Valid unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record in the last 3 years
Ability to maintain high volume and high-quality content in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work with and through teams to achieve results
Strong analysis and decision making ability.
Proficient computer skills.
Ability to work overtime and on weekends.
Ability to walk up to three miles each day.
Requires standing for extended periods of time with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, stooping, pushing, and/or pulling in an environment that may be cold, hot, noisy, and wet and may have fumes or odors due to vehicle maintenance.
Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds independently; majority of lifting from knee to shoulder heights; other lifting required from various levels.
Requires use of safety equipment and PPO that may include but not limited to face shield or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, mask, and other protective garments and equipment.

Job Purpose
In this role you will be responsible for planning, implementation, and management over the manufacturing activities in the assigned areas of the plant. Key Responsibilities
* Manage people and deploy resources to support the needs of the business. Provide direct supervision and ensure organizational objectives align with plant and corporate objectives.

* Understand long-term vision and provide direction and resources to support World Class Manufacturing objectives and cost reduction targets.

* Provide strategic as well as day to day oversight on manufacturing area to ensure target and objectives are met, meet quality standards, and meet or fall below budgeted production costs to meet marketplace demand.
* Manage department budget and related costs related to assigned business unit.
* Resolve issues related to production, machinery, processing and/or other operations.
* Follow lean manufacturing tools and methodology to establish procedures and drive continuous improvement in the plant's manufacturing processes, including welding, painting, and/or assembly.
* Coach, lead, and mentor employees throughout the assigned area to foster an environment of collaboration and employee development.

What you will be doing:
Coordinates daily activities within the distribution center
Supervises staff and directs work as they execute activities related to order fulfillment, order management, inventory management, stocking, material handling, equipment usage, and related needs
Prepares work schedules and reacts quickly and effectively regarding unexpected labor needs
Manages labor hours and payroll in electronic timekeeping system
Interviews and trains prospective and new team members
Supervises business support staff development including appraising performance, rewarding employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Ensures team understands and works toward performance goals
Recommends process improvements within the warehouse or distribution center
Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures, and to determine adequacy of stock levels
Ensures compliance to all company and customer policies and procedures including safety
Schedules work for special and periodic inventories
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies
Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and ISO9002 procedures
Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of team.
Prepares reports for leadership
Assists in maintaining the physical properties of the warehouse
Submits weekly, monthly and other special services billing to customer services representatives
Supervises employees in distribution center operation in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws

Requirements
High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent
Minimum 3 to 5 years related warehouse and/or distribution center experience

PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
