Essential Duties & Responsibilities The Warehouse Supervisor will oversee operational performance by assisting and covering fellow managers and supervisors with daily assignments, taking into account: volume, call-offs, and employee training needs. To facilitate this, proper communication with management and fellow team members is crucial. This position also requires to be very active and may frequently be standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing throughout the day. Items will weigh up to 50 pounds that will require frequent lifting, stacking, moving and rotating without handles and pushing/pulling carts with up to 100 pounds of force. Work Schedule This position works the Night Shift, Sunday through Thursday, and occasionally Fridays based on business needs and holiday schedule.     LITTLE RIVER BAND OF OTTAWA INDIANS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT Position: Food Distribtuion Supervisor - (1) Full Time - Food Distribution Pay Grade: E3 Status: Exempt; Bi-weekly Pay Background Check: Extensive Hiring Range: $40,621.00 - $52,632.00 - $64,642.00 Indian Preference applies in accordance with Ordinance #15-600-02 Summary The position is responsible for the development and administration of commodities programs funded by the Tribe and other funding agencies. The incumbent will prepare regulations, policies, and procedures that are in compliance with Tribal Ordinance, in addition to the supervision of staff and providing for the collaboration of program with other service departments. EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Necessary Qualifications: Associate Degree in Human Services, Business or closely related, or a work experience of five (5) or more years in a warehouse or receiving department; and Three (3) or more years in a supervisory position; and Technical skills of an intermediate to advanced user of MS Office software, computers, and office equipment; and Must obtain forklift training certificate within three (3) months of hire and maintain throughout employment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist members in accessing services of department, providing referrals to other tribal programs or outside agencies, as necessary. Supervises staff and department functions including hiring/termination recommendations, staff training and counseling, work planning and scheduling. Provides information and assists in preparing the annual USDA application for funding. Processes program applications according to established guidelines in the Food and Nutrition Service manual. Prepares and maintains regulations, policies, and procedures that govern assistance programs, presenting to Tribal Ogema for approval. Reviews, comprehends, and is able to instruct others concerning documents which specify the requirements of the program. Ensures program standard operating procedures (SOP's) are compliant with regulations and ordinances that govern tribal programs. Maintains required records and prepares required narrative reports to verify the functions of the program have been fulfilled. Prepares reports for supervisor, Ogema, Tribal Council and USDA as needed. Issues food commodities on a weekly, appointment-based schedule. Records issuance and received commodities into Automated Inventory System (AIS). Orders and receives large quantities of food for distribution to members. Determines fiscal requirements of the department and prepares budgetary recommendations, monitors, verifies, and reconciles expenditure of budgeted funds consistent with fiscal management policies. Maintains inventory and reports to USDA when required; stocks shelves and rotates stock. Requisition of goods and services as needed by the program, provides justification of expenses, and maintains all expense records. Operates power truck (forklift) for loading and unloading of commodities; must obtain forklift training certificate and maintain throughout employment. Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of work and complies with all applicable tribal, federal, or state laws and procedures. Represent the Tribe's position if required by the Tribal Council, Ogema, or supervisor at meetings with other tribes or funding agencies and serve at all times as a goodwill ambassador from the Tribe and USDA. Travel required to attend mandatory meetings by USDA. All other position/department related duties as assigned by supervisor.
