The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the day-to-day operations of all warehouse activities and procedures, including the dispatching and maintenance of all equipment and materials in order to obtain optimum efficiency, safety, quality and timely implementation of work. Essential Duties * Process daily cycle counts and enter results. * Evaluate cycle count accuracy and make recommendations to Finance. * Assist in cycle counting and related duties to ensure inventory control and accuracy. * Receive miscellaneous purchase orders. * Assist the Planning Department with interplant and outside supplier processes. * Audit warehouse personnel for adherence to Quality Checklists and policies; perform quality checks as needed and report concerns to the Supervisor/Manager. * Process Quality Control documentation requests and ensure the QC Department provides all requested documents. * Process all sample requests. * Communicate daily and effectively with Inside Sales, Quality, Shipping, IT, and Accounting to resolve system-related problems and discrepancies. * Maintain a close working relationship with Accounting to ensure all shipping documents are forwarded to invoicing daily and all computer files related to invoicing are updated. * Process all stock transfers between East Granby and any remote warehouses. Additional Duties - Assist Shipping Team * Process shipments according to customer sales order specifications. * Process all stock orders by preparing cut paperwork and updating orders in the system to reflect work in progress. * Confirm each shipment meets customer packaging specifications and review all documentation (manifests, packing lists, air bills, bills of lading, quality reports, etc.) for accuracy and completeness. * Verify shipment contents - total footage, length requirements, labeling, reel sizes, wrapping, etc. - to ensure they exactly match the customer's order; communicate discrepancies promptly. * Assign pickups to carriers and organize the daily pickup schedule. Education and Experience Preferred * High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced education beyond high school preferred. * Aptitude for working with numbers and computer systems/reports. Knowledge and Skills Preferred * Strong attention to detail and follow-through; able to work independently with minimal supervision. * Effective communication skills with all levels of the organization and external partners. * Adaptable and able to handle changing priorities while meeting deadlines. * Prior experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing preferred. * Knowledge of products and materials used in the wire and cable industry a plus. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. * Ability to function effectively as part of a team. Working Conditions and Physical Requirements * Ability to work long hours in a sedentary position involving computer work and repetitive motions. * Must be able to move objects and materials weighing at least 25 lbs. * Willingness to collaborate with manufacturing team members in a potentially noisy environment. * Ability to follow all safety guidelines and wear required PPE when onsite. All other duties assigned, based on the business the warehouse supports. Required Skills and Experience 2+ years of prior leadership experience. 2+ years of prior logistics experience. Previous experience with using warehouse distribution equipment. Basic understanding of business operations and strategies. Competent in maintaining accurate and organized records. Proficiency in strategic planning and analytical thinking, adept at identifying patterns, trends, and opportunities for improvement. Demonstrates effective leadership and interpersonal skills, able to communicate, motivate, and influence others within the organization. Capable of managing a busy workload, organizing tasks, and meeting deadlines consistently. Demonstrates problem-solving abilities and effective decision-making skills. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel for generating reports. Preferred Skills and Experience Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus. General knowledge of OSHA Standards. Ability to coordinate and resolve logistics-related challenges, simple to complex. Supervising temporary staff. Experience working with UKG and Kronos. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for effectively communicating and collaborating with all departments to insure that company policies and decisions are consistent, efficient and in compliance. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: * Initiating and managing his/her departmental hiring, performance management and termination processes in collaboration with senior management to insure consistency, compliance and fairness of actions. * Communicating effectively and in a timely manner with internal and external customers to resolve issues as applicable. Assist customers with any questions or issues that they might have. * Managing the effective day-to-day operation of outgoing ecommerce orders in a high-volume, fast-paced distribution center. * Supervising the performance of the warehouse personnel team members so that business objectives are optimally achieved. * Completing the Performance Management process using FMP's system and process for all warehouse personnel on an annual basis * Assist GM with monthly safety meetings and safety inspections to insure safe operations at all times. * Recommend and conduct disciplinary action with reporting personnel as needed under the guidance of General Manager and Human Resources. * Utilize available systems and technology to perform daily tasks using such systems as Ulti-Pro and/or FMP's ordering or inventory systems such as JMO and shipping software. * Monitor daily warehouse and delivery volume and expense to insure profitable operations. * Train and instruct employees on most efficient means of executing their tasks and manage the new hire process of all new personnel. * Ensure all warehouse assignments are completed on a daily basis * Perform all additional responsibilities and tasks as assigned by management in a timely manner. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES : * Must have strong computer skills, proficiency and knowledge.
