This individual is ultimately measured on the efficient flow of material from warehouse to end user and safeguarding the assets and resources associated thereof. Key Responsibilities
Company Operations:
Team Management: Manage and provide leadership to diverse group of team members, including warehouse staff and individual store personnel. Includes hiring and onboarding, attendance, disciplinary actions, and occasional backup support to managers during employee absences.
Building Maintenance and Operating Supplies: Manage building maintenance throughout ACS in coordination with store managers and the Director of Finance. Coordinate and manage equipment and technology purchases and maintenance.
Fleet Management: Manage FMCSA & DOT regulations along with procurement and maintenance of company vehicles.
Shipping: Manage transfer process between main warehouse and store locations. Process UPS and LTL shipments.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement short-term and long-term operational plans aligned with the company's overall strategic goals.
Supply Chain Management:
Procurement: Set up new parts, create and receive purchase orders as needed, and communicate with vendors on discrepancies.
Inventory Management: Conduct inventory audits as needed to investigate discrepancies. Work with store locations on maintaining appropriate stock levels. Control disposition of expired/damaged products. Manage hazardous waste disposal and IDEM filings.
Physical Inventory: Conduct year-end physical inventory at several locations, coordinate physical inventories at smaller locations, and report totals to management team.
Vendor Relations: Work with vendors for product returns and recalls. Meet with manufacturer representatives as needed. Manage and submit vendor invoices for miscellaneous needs.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Regulatory Compliance: Manage OSHA, IDEM, and other regulatory compliance needs, coordinate employee accident procedures, and manage fork truck maintenance and certifications. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Risk Management: Assess and mitigate operational risks and develop contingency plans for potential disruptions. Ensure coverage for absences.
Safety Management: Identify, evaluate, and control hazards to ensure safe and healthy working environment. Thoroughly investigate all accidents and incidents to determine root causes and prevent recurrence.
Employee training: Provide comprehensive safety training to all employees. Ensure that managers understand their role in safety management and are equipped to promote a safe work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations management, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in operations, preferably in the automotive and industrial coatings industry.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Excel, and distribution operating systems.
Experience managing and leading a team of individuals.
Experience in distribution and/or multi-location preferred.

What You'll Do

Operational

What You'll Do:
This is a hands-on role focused on unloading trailers, breaking down and restacking pallets, and moving 25-80 lbs., with powered equipment used as needed.
Safely unload tractor-trailers in a fast-paced warehouse setting
Operate forklifts & powered pallet jacks (training provided)
Break down and restack pallets
Handle freight weighing 25-80 lbs throughout the shift
Work in varied warehouse temperatures (from -20°F to 110°F)
Work Conditions:
Lift, walk, bend, twist, reach, push, and squat throughout shift
Handle 25-80 lb cases; move 50-200+ pallets daily
Work in temperatures from -20°F to 110°F
Must be able to hear and respond to speech, alarms, and safety alerts in moderate to loud environments
What We're Looking For:
Warehouse experience preferred (order picking, forklift, etc.) but not required
Able to lift, walk, bend, and twist most of the workday
Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
Reliable and willing to work scheduled shifts
Skills/Knowledge:
Basic math and attention to detail
Ability to speak, read, and write English for effective communication
Follow directions and work safely
Respectful and professional with others
Able to work well in a team environment
