A profitable, stable, employer is eager to hire their next Distribution Supervisor for their 12-hour night shift (6 p.m.-6 a.m.) to oversee the warehouse operations of the assigned shift. The Distribution Supervisor will report to a Warehouse Manager and will have up to 20 direct reports. The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the following duties:
Lead shipping and receiving initiatives for the shift
Coordinate cross-functional teams to maximize safety, quality, delivery and cost initiatives
Schedule and assign workforce based on production schedule and make adjustments throughout the shift as needed
Meet daily, weekly and monthly requirements, metrics and goals
Train, coach, mentor and evaluate the warehouse workforce
Communicate with management on the status of shipping and receiving activities
Troubleshoot shift issues that could be related to IT, maintenance, labeling, trucking, etc.
Maintain manpower goals by working with staffing services and human resources to attract, recruit and interview talent
Complete shift reports in the ERP and WMS system; communicate with incoming supervisors at shift change
Lead staff training initiatives
Complete nightly shift audits
Handle hr issues, including approving hours and vacation and completing disciplinary actions
Identify, initiate and maintain process improvements
Other duties as directed by management
This position requires candidates to be on the manufacturing floor up to 50% of their day. Candidates should have excellent verbal communication skills, be energetic, have the ability to coach and mentor others, have good work history and enjoy floor presence. Problem-solving skills are required! Candidates should be eager for career growth and opportunity for future advancement. These are long-term, 12-hour shifts that require candidates to work every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Although rare, candidates should be willing to take off-shift calls as needed to answer any questions.

Requirements for the Distribution Supervisor:
1. A Bachelor's degree is required; December 2024 and May 2025 graduates with relatable manufacturing coops and/or internships will be considered
2. A minimum of 1-5 years of warehouse or distribution supervision experience
3. Experience overseeing at least 10 individuals
4. Non-union supervision experience
5. If not already, willing to become forklift-certified
6. Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook

Purpose Statement

Coordinate with System Operations and Engineering Divisions to ensure combined goals of the Department are met.

Responsible for ensuring system improvements are identified and applied.
Identify and implement processes and procedures.
Identify and establish plans and goals to improve the operations of the transmission and distributions system including cost effectiveness, timeliness and reliability.
Support, develop and manage technical skills and safety methods training of field personnel.
Follows and enforce all safety protocols established by City and safety standards.
Develop, communicate, and oversee policies, procedures, and standards for the department and make improvement recommendations when necessary.
Identify and develop potential sources for supplies, materials, equipment, and services that meet quality and price expectations.
Maintain familiarity with the latest NERC Standards and that the standards are implemented in the operation of the electric system.
Oversee and direct all outage response actions according to the Power & Light Department Emergency Response Standard Operating Procedures.
Manage union labor relations including meeting with city and utility management, business associates, customers, regulating agencies, advisory boards, special interest groups, neighboring utility officials and other members of the community for the purpose of discussing electric service, power supply and broad utility/energy policies and issues.
Oversee and direct contract services including, but not limited to, vegetation management, underground locating, construction and maintenance of facilities, etc., reviewing weekly time records and monthly production reports.
Investigate all complaints, property damage reports and file written recommendation to the city's law department.
Plan, manage and control department's financial resources through defining and developing operations, maintenance and construction budgets.
Develop, recommend, monitor and oversee department annual operating budget.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Graduation from college with an associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school;
AND
Four (4) years of experience in utility, power, light and general municipal government;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
Special Requirements and/or Qualifications:
Current Journey Lineman status.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Must complete required NIMS level training within first six months of hire.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a perpetual record integrity in distribution to ensure inventory accuracy through the administration of the cycle count program and the thorough analysis and response to miscellaneous issues and receipts. The Inventory Supervisor is also responsible for overseeing the functions performed by inventory associates and other such staff.
As part of the DSV team, Associates are expected to meet company objectives in the areas of performance, safety, and quality. Associates are expected to comply with all corporate and site-specific policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Implement space utilization plan to meet prescribed cost and service standards.
· Monitors the space layout plan to ensure it continues to meet company standards.
· Implement and effective product locator system and update as necessary.
· Delegating work and responsibility to subordinates.
· Oversee scheduled shifts and evaluating the working of inventory staff and subordinates.
· Analyzes daily cycle counts and reconciles any discrepancies between physical count and perpetual record.

· Assist with associate relations and training.
· Audit warehouse daily for compliance with safety, security, and quality principles and rules. Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area. Promote safety among work crew.
· Transmit e-mails to DSV representatives and clients (when required), write corrective/preventive actions, complete reports for operations manager, follow-up with attendance reports, write counseling memos and write/perform evaluations. All communications must be accurate and professional.
· Conduct daily startup meetings, encouraging associates to provide feedback and work as a team and help with their development (training), coordinate operations with manager to ensure
completion of daily objectives, report and discuss any internal or external issues that involve the operation.
· Provide good communication and motivational techniques and ensure all company rules are followed. Provide management with information regarding labor/equipment needs to meet customer demands. Develop team leaders and ensure that associate expectations are being met.
