Directs containerization of storage shipments to insure accuracy and safety. Prepares outgoing shipments for delivery or release to other carriers. Loads outgoing supplement on vans & trucks. Operates forklift as required to prepare and store shipments. Monitors and inspects returning trucks. Assists in planning of warehouse layout, and other storage areas, considering turnover, size, weight, and related factors of items stored. Advises employees on care and preservation of items received, stored, and shipped; methods and use of equipment in handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping stock; and related problems. Maintains and updates content inventories. Assists in ordering of inventories. Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies. Determines work procedures based on priorities received from the Local Operations Manager Receives daily work schedule from dispatch and distributes as appropriate. Issues written and oral instructions. Assigns duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies and procedures. Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances. Prepares composite reports from individual reports of subordinates. QUALIFICATIONS One year certificate from college or technical school, two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Forklift Certification.
