Primary Function
Manage assigned fleet of equipment and directly supervise approximately 40 employee over-the-road (OTR) professional drivers to ensure service, availability, and productivity to best serve customer needs, while balancing driver miles, home time, performance, and profitability.
Description
Supervises and directs the work of drivers to maximize productivity and provide safe, on time delivery to our valued customer base while balancing the driver's miles, home time and performance.
Responsible for managing customer delivery commitments which includes supervising driver time off requests for vacations, personal time off, equipment maintenance issues and traffic delays.
Supervise and encourage driver optimum performance and satisfaction by proactively monitoring driver wait time at shippers and consignees, dwell time between loads, address driver complaints/grievances and act on behalf of the driver as needed, including determining when additional pay is appropriate, approved and in process.
Ensure prompt payroll processing for drivers with proactive steps and communication with the payroll department as needed.
Maximize productivity and utilization of assigned fleet of equipment and employee over-the-road (OTR) professional drivers through communication and proactive steps with maintenance, planning, safety, and customer service departments.
Compute daily checklist to ensure compliance with company goals (KPIs) and verification of all fundamental accomplished.
Regular attendance is required to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
Other duties may be assigned.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Trains forklift drivers by administering road tests and certification.

Prepares work orders for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
Oversees the loading and unloading of commercial and/or company truck deliveries daily.
Responsible for documentation and identification including labeling and barcoding.
Train team members, follow, and enforce standards that are required for SQF, OSHA, FDA, EPA, customers, and other regulatory agencies.

Oversees the loading and unloading of commercial and/or company truck deliveries daily.

This role must appropriately handle all materials following company policies and procedures to ensure a safe workplace and may need to drive a company vehicle occasionally.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Unload trailers that arrive at the center. Check and record trailer inventory for accuracy and accountability.
Rotate warehouse inventory to ensure product freshness. Adheres to all policies and procedures relating to product age and quality.
Properly maintain and track returned, stale and damaged product on trailers.
Maintain accurate daily inventory balances.
Assists in the inventory validation of incoming shipments from vendors or other warehouse/stores with accuracy as well as assist in periodic inventory counts.
Builds pallets and orders as needed and directed to support successful order fulfillment.
Prioritize and select inventory to fill orders and stage product of unloading/loading.
Operate lift trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move parts to the appropriate locations. Load and unload freight trucks as necessary
Complete trailer inspections and document where applicable.
Maintain the warehouse including, but not limited to, ensuring pathways and exits are clear of obstructions.
Provide back-up to sales routes on an as-needed basis.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of experience preferred.
Forklift operation experience required. Must be able to successfully complete the forklift certification.
Previous experience picking and pulling orders preferred.
Ability to work in fast paced environment that involves repetitive motion
Attention to detail and good time management skills.
Must have good oral and written communication skills
Follow written and oral instructions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This position requires the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with hazardous chemicals and materials, etc.
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing; walking over slippery surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, or similar activities; recurring lifting of moderately heavy items such as samples and record boxes. This position requires frequent pulling, pushing, carrying, and lifting up to 70lbs.
