Position Summary The Traffic Supervisor is the nerve center of the facility's logistics operation. You will lead a small, dedicated dock team and serve as the critical bridge between production, the warehouse, purchasing, and our carrier partners. Team Leadership & Operations Lead, mentor, and supervise a small dock team of 3-4 employees, fostering a safe and efficient work environment. Collaborate daily with production leadership and planners to align shipping priorities with manufacturing output. Oversee dock flow to keep staging areas organized, verify all outbound loads for accuracy, and ensure the dock is clear and prepared for the next day. 2. Carrier & Freight Coordination Manage the daily schedule and flow of 30-40 inbound and outbound truckloads. Schedule all carrier pickups and delivery appointments, managing dock windows effectively. Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers and carriers, professionally resolving any on-site issues or delays. Adjust load plans and carrier schedules on the fly to respond to production changes or carrier availability. 3. Systems & Documentation Ensure 100% accuracy of all shipping documentation, including printing Bills of Lading (BOLs) and preparing packing lists. Manage all cross-border documentation for U.S./Canada shipments, ensuring compliance with commercial invoices, packing lists, and USMCA forms. Maintain shipping data and close out shipments in the company ERP system (Magic). Update customer-specific supplier portals (e.g., Walmart, Sam's Club, Costco) with Advance Ship Notices (ASNs) and routing information. Qualifications & Ideal Profile Required: Experience: 5-10 years of experience in traffic, logistics, or shipping supervision. Volume: Proven experience managing a high-volume dock (comfort with 20-50 truckloads per day). Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and motivate a small dock-side team calmly and clearly. Cross-Border: Fluency in preparing and managing U.S./Canada shipping documentation (USMCA, commercial invoices, etc.). Systems: Proficiency with an ERP system (SAP, Oracle, Magic, etc.) and experience using customer/supplier portals (e.g., Walmart, Costco, Target). Skills: Direct, professional, and responsive communicator. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and organized under pressure. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead, mentor, and develop warehouse staff through effective training, coaching, and performance management. Oversee daily warehouse operations including receiving, returns, order fulfillment, inventory control, and material handling to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness. Assist in determining staffing needs, allocate daily workloads, and adjust schedules to ensure all areas are properly covered. Set clear expectations for performance, safety, and quality standards while conducting regular check-ins, feedback sessions, and evaluations. Build and maintain a positive, team-oriented culture that promotes accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Partner with HR on recruiting, onboarding, and cross-training initiatives for warehouse staff. Monitor and analyze key operational metrics such as order accuracy, shipping times, and inventory levels; communicate trends, areas for improvement, and action plans to leadership. Resolve issues related to transportation, logistics systems, imports/exports, and customer concerns in a timely and professional manner. Review demand forecasts to anticipate peak performance periods and assign workloads accordingly. Collaborate with other departments including Customer Success, Purchasing, and Product and Innovation to align warehouse operations with company objectives and ensure smooth communication across teams. Ensure teams have the tools, equipment, and materials needed to perform efficiently, ordering packaging and operational supplies as necessary while monitoring related costs. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce costs, and enhance overall efficiency. Safety and Compliance: Ensure all warehouse operations, material handling, and equipment use comply with OSHA regulations and company safety policies; maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free environment. Oversee warehouse layout, equipment utilization, and space optimization to maintain a productive and safe workspace. Maintain data accuracy and integrity within Warehouse Management and ERP systems; ensure proper documentation and reporting. Monitor inventories of products and materials to maintain appropriate stock levels and accuracy. Conduct regular team meetings, including weekly L10 meetings, to review goals, updates, and company initiatives. Tracks, analyzes, establishes and effectively communicates key quantitative metrics (KPIs), business trends, areas for improvement, and actionable insights to the warehouse team and other internal teams. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline is preferred; however, candidates with significant equivalent professional experience may also be considered. Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory control, and order fulfillment processes. Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a diverse team while fostering a positive and accountable work environment. Skilled in workforce planning, scheduling, and workload distribution to meet changing operational needs.     Primary Function: The essential function of this position is the supervision of all inventory staff on shift by team. The inventory team will consist of Hi-lo drivers, lumpers, reach truck operators and rider jack operators. Primary areas of focus are; on time shipping of orders, maintaining production inputs, product utilization and ensuring warehouse procedures are followed. Primary Responsibilities: * Supervise inventory teams, managing manpower and processes to meet the objectives of the business. * Ongoing / constant monitoring of employee compliance and performance, identifying best practices and workarounds being used. Addressing both accordingly. * Monitor and flex staff using system tools to meet internal demand changes. * Support the production team through timely delivery of properly allocated product at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled run time. * Hit target outbound schedules (ready times) by managing staff and prioritizing workloads while following established picking process controls and thorough investigation of the missing report. * Monitor WMS exceptions and compliance to identify issues and correct / coach operators' compliance to success. * Monitor picking accuracy and work to improve results through training and follow up with team members. * Liaise with quality, receiving, production, CIC's, scheduling and shipping regarding quality issues, alternate allocation requests, or requests for deviations to a customer specification. * Monitor the use of all material handling equipment to ensure that it is used safely and properly. * Ensure that all company policies are being followed by the team, including adherence to all GMP and Food Safety related policies. * Ensure work station and inventory area is maintained and organized to be audit ready. * Conduct daily huddle meetings with the team to discuss goals, bottlenecks and productivity expectations and metrics. * Lead and develop your direct reports through coaching and mentoring to set objectives for team members including any necessary corrective actions and progressive discipline. * Continually look for ways to improve current processes to gain greater efficiencies and reduce operational costs. * Provide Management reports as required daily, weekly and monthly. Thursday- Saturday alternating Wednesday 6 pm - 6 am Education/Background Requirements: * At least three years' experience in warehouse operations. * Prior supervisory experience preferred. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required * High level of discipline and determination to adhere to process. * Must have the ability to effectively follow-up with personnel and handle multiple ongoing projects. * Excellent math skills. * Proficient with MS Office. * Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision. * Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills. Need to be creative, adaptable and able to accurately work with a sense of urgency. * Must be a self-starter and willing to work flexible hours. * Hilo (reach truck, Forklift and pallet Jack) certified Preferred. Working Conditions: * Environment includes an expansive refrigerated warehouse, where the temperature averages 50 degrees.
