PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Primarily responsible for operating fork lift equipment, setting up debone area, and transporting finished product. Must always use and maintain personal protective equipment, and work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state and federal policies, laws and regulations.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Responsible for setting up the debone area with coolant, tubs and the transportation of combos.
Responsible for transporting finished product to the scales and to the manifest area.
Responsible for moving product to be reworked.
Required to maintain forklift in sanitary manner and replace battery when needed.
Ability to work cooperatively with supervisors, coworkers
Do all tasks assigned by members of management
Must be able to follow directions and work in other departments as needed.
Must be able to perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and extended shift hours.
Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Relative poultry industry experience.
Basic math functions and skills.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIRMENTS:
Fork lift certified.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follow Standard Operating Procedures and adhere to safety requirements
Must wear required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
PPE required but subject to change: Hairnet, smock, earplugs
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Stand up to 8 hours.
Lift up to 60 lbs.
Frequent exposure to heat (incubators are 99.5 degrees Fahrenheit).
Exposure to wet and dusty environment.
Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling and crawling.
Roll and push buggies (~1,000 lbs.).
Work around raw, live animal odors. Ability to work in a wet and cold environment (45ºF, 4ºC)
Ability to stand for an 8 hour shift

Responsibilities
Responsibilities for the Forklift Operator positions include but are not limited to:
Must have safe forklift driving history
Must be able to drive forklift in congested areas
Must be able to store products over-head safely
Responsible for properly rotating products on a daily basis
Must have knowledge of all lock out and fork lift check sheets
Must know all loading procedures
Employees are responsible for following all food safety/Good Manufacturing Practices requirements
Must wear all required PPE
Must be trained in and understand all associated safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures
Must be able to complete the requirements to become certified in forklift operations

Qualifications

Previous experience in the meat industry preferred but not required.
Previous experience operating a forklift preferred; if previous forklift operator experience, must have safe forklift operation history
Must be available to work 12 hour shifts
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.

WHAT YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE
The Forklift Driver will drive electric powered, or propane powered industrial truck with lifting devices such as a forklift to push, pull, lift, stack, tier or move products, material, and equipment. This person will be responsible for obtaining and transporting proper packaging supplies to production staging area from warehouse storage, as well as transport pallets of finished product from production to shipping areas in a timely manner.
Collect, rotates, dumps and stores raw product into cull trailers, rotates stock in cold storage on rare occasion, inventories stock in cold storage, and accomplishes all other tasks requiring the use of specified heavy equipment
Obtain supplies from warehouse storage racks for production and transport to appropriate staging areas as required
Remove packing, banding and place in proper receptacles, remove empty pallets, cardboard packing, and strapping to the dumpster or other appropriate receptacles
Transport pallets of finished product from production to shipping areas with Forklift
Inspect equipment at beginning and end of each shift
At the end of the shift, responsible for removal of raw product and solid waste from food contact surface and properly clean and sanitize the production facility area/grounds and equipment
Cover and protect sensitive equipment with canvas/plastic cover
Apply cleaning chemicals to all machinery
Use centralized and/or portable foaming systems
Help disassemble equipment.
Apply heavy-duty chemicals to breakdown accumulated sugars
Apply concentrated sanitizer to walls and overhead
Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Minimum Qualifications:
High School/GED or six to nine months of experience in related field or combination of both education and experience
Forklift Certification
Required Skills and Abilities:
