Job Description
We are looking for a Warehouse Associate to join our Mayer team in Harrisburg, PA!
Summary:
Employee's level and pay will be dependent on their level of experience, knowledge, and capabilities. The Warehouse Associate - Combined is responsible for efficiently and accurately filling customer orders, receiving, stocking, staging, and shipping material in a manner that meets company standards for safety, security, accuracy, and productivity. Responsible for all warehouse transactions, as well as the upkeep and maintenance of the branch warehouse environment and equipment.
What You'll Do:
* Contribute to a culture and environment focused daily on employee safety and a safe work environment
* Follow established Standard Operating Procedures, Environmental Health and Safety Rules, and immediately address safety concerns
* Receive material coming into the building by vendors, customers, or other warehouses and verify the quantity and description of materials received by checking merchandise against the packing list
* Keep incoming orders stocked on shelves orderly and in designated area and report freight damage claims
* Prepare branch orders from the warehouse and ensure that the correct number and type of product is being shipped
* Process paperwork regarding shipments including but not limited to verifying that the merchandise to be shipped is correct, applying the correct postage tape and label, following customer shipping instructions, and insuring the shipment when necessary
* Operate machinery including forklift, reach truck, and wire cutting machine when required
* Load common carrier and company vehicles
* Inspect and perform minor maintenance on equipment
* Perform inventory counts and reconcile any discrepancies
* Make deliveries to branches/customers as needed
* Assist with other warehouse or branch duties as needed
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Certification to operate forklift, hand truck, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment preferred
If required to make deliveries:Must have a valid driver's license
* Must be at least 21 years of age
* Must pass a pre-employment and annual review of the Motor Vehicle Record
* Must obtain verification of non-expired medical certificate as required by law within 60 days of hire
* Must not have had a suspended driver's license for a traffic accident/violation within the past 3 years
* Must not have any at fault accidents in the past 3 years
* High School or GED - Preferred
* General knowledge of electrical products a plus
* Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and customers
* Ability to handle basic issues and problems
* Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations to accurately complete job tasks

Qualifications

Physical Effort: Required to do some heavy lifting, not to exceed 70 pounds and carrying for short distances. However, lift trucks, hoists and cranes are available for the movement and placement of heavy machinery. May work at various height levels and will work in close coordination with other employees in the movement of large sections of machines. Must have hand-eye coordination.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in well-lighted, adequately heated buildings. May be required to work in unheated areas or outdoors. Hazards exist due to the movement of heavy machinery by overhead cranes, lift truck and jib cranes. * Performs preliminary inspection, overhaul/repair, retrofitting, modification and complete final operational testing and calibration of Industrial Plant Equipment (IPE)
* Diagnoses and localizes a problem to a specific, electronic, electrical, optical, hydraulic, pneumatic or mechanical malfunction.
* Localizes, isolates and repairs or replaces faulty electronic modules and components by using schematics, logic diagrams, logic symbology, technical instructions, logic testing equipment, manual data input, and computer stored program procedures.
* Performs testing, rewiring, repairing, overhauling, tracing and troubleshooting of electrical circuits, replacing of control units, electrical panels, fuses, and switches.
* Tests overall Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) system operation by using data input in all modes to insure proper machine response and accuracy.

Qualifications

Physical Effort: Work requires standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, stooping and sitting for extended periods or time working in cramped and/or awkward positions. Lifts and carries items weighing from 10 to 40 pounds, and occasionally objects weighing in excess of 40 pounds. Uses moderate physical effort, fine finger dexterity and close visual attention.
Working Conditions: Work is performed under shop conditions in an adequately lighted, heated and ventilated warehouse. Subject to loud noises, heat, cold, fumes, dirt, grease and the possibility of cuts, bruises, and injury when using tools and testing equipment. There is the hazard of electrical shock and burns, injury from moving machinery, and falls from heights. Occasionally required to work in other buildings and is exposed to noises, fumes, dust and grease. Travel to other sites is required approximately 50% of the time.
