SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Shipping Supervisor, the Truck Loader is responsible for the packaging and loading of furniture safely and efficiently to ensure finished goods are packaged and loaded on trucks for timely delivery to customers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates the shrink wrap machine to package furniture
Packaging furniture using cardboard boxes
Moves furniture using a shipping dolly
Loads furniture on trucks
Scans furniture to ensure tracking
Reads labels and shipping documents to ensure proper loading
May operate a forklift (as certified and necessary)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Ability to interact collaboratively with others
Ability to lift 100lbs.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment, both climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled.
Ability to pass forklift certification
EFFORT:
Continuous walking, bending, lifting ( 8-hour shift)

Uses the RF Put-Away function to scan the proper bar code labels. Physically places the skids in reserve locations scanned. May be responsible for verifying the shipment in the warehouse management system.
* Completes work orders as assigned by Inventory Control and ensures that outbound shipments to the various distribution centers and other destinations are pulled and expediated. Verifies quantities are accurate and match with outbound shipping paperwork. Scans each skid to the shipment and ensures load is secure for outbound transport. Loads trailer and provides shipping documents to the carrier.
* Utilizes RF and WM system to access system generated tasks to stock the pick line and secondary warehouse locations. Locates product in reserve bulk location. Verifies inventory part number matches the system generated request. Scans location bar code to remove the inventory from bulk storage. Stocks the pick line by scanning the location and the requested number of cases. Cuts cases with care to not cut or damage product or cartons and loads the cases into bulk flow racks. Lifts cases to shoulder level or over head to place product on pallets or bulk racks. Returns remaining inventory to original reserve location or to a different reserve location using the Locate Pallet function. Determines the best standard practice among the various replenishment options given the complexity of the task.
* Performs weekly system generated cycle counts as assigned. Completes system generated cycle counts by scanning each case on the pallet. Assists Inventory Control with reconciliation of variances.
* Works with the Team Coordinator to ensure prompt delivery of components and raw materials to the Distribution Assembly production floor to meet production schedules, tasking requirements and eliminate downtime. Assists in the inspection of finished good product for defects before and after assembly and ensured the correct items are delivered to the pick lines. Performs cycle counts and properly stocks all returned inventory from distribution assembly work orders to maintain the highest level of inventory accuracy. Shares accountability with employees on the Distribution Assembly line for packaging specification compliance. Communicates with Supervisor or Team Coordinator when tasking demand is low to utilize resources elsewhere.

SUMMARY:
The Shipper Receiver must follow all plant safety, Good Manufacturing Practices and Food Safety rules and regulations. Documentation and paperwork procedures must be followed as well as verbal and / or written instructions and guidelines according to the job requirements. The Shipper Receiver will be responsible for pulling orders using FIFO (First In First Out) procedure, loading and unloading of trucks (finished product and raw materials), rotation of production brought from production to warehouse, and maintaining good housekeeping. The Shipper Receiver will back-up the Production Forklift driver and Material Production Handler as needed. This role does not have direct reports.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
Notify in-coming trucks to back up to correct dock doors, chock wheels, lock out airline.
Check trailer contents to ensure product and quantity is correct before being received.
Report any damaged product to Quality Assurance before receiving.
Retrieve and match shipping bill of lading and pick ticket.
Pull and stage using FIFO and pickup ticket.
Check order a second time for accuracy before loading onto trailer (dates, quantity and quality).
