WHAT YOU'LL DO * Complete assigned jobs and task to meet flat rate times and re-do metric. * Perform work in a shop setting. * Understand and apply CAT reusability guidelines. * Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments. * Work safely and follow all WCAT safety policies and procedures. * Complete related paperwork and access databases required to complete job (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely. * Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations. * Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, clean and inspect assemblies with minimal supervision on or around gen sets / frac trailers / industrial equipment. * Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments. * Apply general failure analysis and procedures to determine proper diagnosis. * Accurate and timely completion of service reports. * Perform engine, generator and component diagnosis and repair with limited supervision. * Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot problems while providing recommendations for those repairs and make all critical machine and engine repairs and adjustments while providing required information to service manager. * Follow Caterpillar guidelines when performing engine overhead measurements and adjustments. * Mentor EPG Techs I as needed. WHAT YOU'LL NEED * High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one to three years related experience and/or training as a gen tech, gas/diesel/automotive technician/mechanic OR equivalent combination of education and experience. * Associate degree/certificate in diesel technology, or similar mechanical discipline (preferred). * EGSA or equivalent certifications a plus. * Specific CAT product knowledge of gas, diesel, electrical, electronic, mechanical, and components. * OEM specific product knowledge may substitute for CAT product knowledge. * Demonstrated work experience and knowledge of diesel and gas engines, electrical, electronic, generator, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic systems and components. * Proficient use of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments, laptops, diagnostic software and cranes and rigging equipment. * Ability to provide accurate quotes. * Flexibility to work overtime as needed. * Successfully complete Work steps assessment. * Will be certified prior to operating a forklift and/or man lift. * Complete certification of arc flash training. * Must complete all EPG Level I training and/or demonstrated performance and work toward attaining all Level II training within a reasonable time period. * Normally we would expect an employee to be at this level for 24 - 48 months. The Service Asset Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the acquisition, maintenance, tracking, safety requirements, repair, and utilization of service assets for the entire machine division by performing the following duties DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES? WHAT YOU'LL DO: * Develop strong working relationships with the Service Department personnel. * Develop cooperative relationship with Fleet Coordinator for the sale and purchase of all Machine Service Vehicles. * Develop cooperative relationship with Accounting personnel for billing and corrections pertaining to Machine Service Assets. * Maintain proper service records on all mobile assets. * Support tool inventories and tool tracking system for company owned tools. * Research and coordinate the use of outside vendors in relation to the purchase and support of service assets. * Coordinate the preventive maintenance program for company and employee owned tools. * Conduct regular inventory audits for tools and service supplies. * Research purchase options and negotiate pricing and delivery for the acquisition of new service assets. * Maintain proper tooling repair and cost records. * Coordinate the process for all periodic safety inspections of service assets. * Maintain proper safety records for all assets requiring periodic safety inspections. * Create and reconcile purchase orders and invoices for the purchase and repair of service assets. * Coordinate and monitor the yearly safety and inspection program on all revenue service trucks. * Reconcile service inventory and service expense accounts monthly. * Other duties may be assigned.
