The Laborer II position is performed on a part-time basis and is classified as Regular Personnel with nonexempt
is to assist with the maintenance (including repairs and
improvements) of all grounds, facilities and equipment of the Norridge Park District.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists with the landscape operations of Park District grounds, as well as the in-house construction,
trades maintenance and care of all the Park District buildings, facilities and equipment.
Expected to work in all indoor and outdoor conditions.
Responsible for following all policies and procedures within the Personnel and Safety Manuals.
Obtain training and certifications for CPR, First Aid and AED.
Assist in District-wide safety program and comply with all federal, state and local laws.
Perform all custodial work and general clean-up of parks and facilities while monitoring the
appearance and condition of properties.
Follow the District's maintenance program for all parks and equipment.
Inform the Superintendent of Parks and other staff members of all pertinent matters.
Participates in staff meetings with all Parks Department personnel.
Assist with the start-up and physical operation of the swimming pool, Recreation Center, gymnasium,
hockey rinks and lighted athletic courts and fields including facilities under contractual agreements.

patrons and employees).

Activities are performed both indoors and outdoors. Indoor environmental conditions will include
lighting and temperature. Outdoor environmental conditions will include exposure to weather - ranging
from extreme heat to extreme cold - and associated elements like rain, snow, ice, wind, etc.
Exposure to various chemicals (fertilizers, pool chemicals, cleaning agents, oil fuels, etc.) is to be
expected.
COGNITIVE CONSIDERATIONS:

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a valid Illinois driver's license and be 16 years or older. Ability to lift 50 pounds with or without assistance. Ability to work nights and weekends and to be on call for emergencies, seasonal work load,
