About the Role: As a Longwall Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the safe identification, troubleshooting, and completion of longwall maintenance including underground related electrical maintenance activities. Responsibilities: Troubleshoot and perform all electrical repairs as required for longwall equipment, as well as stationary fixed equipment. Installing, repairing, and maintaining electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in the underground mine Perform maintenance duties on longwall equipment and perform required checks to ensure that equipment is maintained and in permissible condition. Maintenance testing of low to high voltage (13.8kV) electrical equipment in the underground including transformers, switchgear, protective relays, circuit breakers, cables, and motors Fabrication and installation of various low voltage electrical equipment (distribution boards, lighting, etc.) throughout the underground mine. Repair and maintenance of instrumentation pertaining to the longwall. May be required to operate certain mine equipment to diagnose problems, position it for repairs to be made, test operation after making repairs. Maintaining personal hand tools for functionality and cleanliness. Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping in all work areas to provide a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, and vendors. Able to complete daily tasks and provide reports of updated electrical drawings (red lines). Implementing protective relay settings into existing protective relays based on settings provided. Participating in commissioning activities of new equipment installed in the underground mine. Establishing work relationships is necessary to efficiently execute the daily electrical activities. Actively participate in daily safety meetings. Other duties as assigned. Who You Are: Must have valid MSHA Electrical Certification. A minimum of two (2) years underground electrical experience in an underground mining or production environment preferred. Longwall Maintenance experience required. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. System commissioning experience in an industrial environment. Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Preferred Credentials: High voltage experience Shaft and hoist experience, preferred. Perform and document work area inspections and equipment inspection/ operation cards.
