Warwick International Hotels company history timeline
Founded in 1980 by Richard Chiu, Warwick Hotels and Resorts represents a collection of distinct, upscale hotels and resorts known for quality throughout the world with over 55 hotels on five continents.
In 1981, the Hotel Westminster was acquired by Warwick Hotels and Resorts, a collection that has preserved the legacy of this Parisian landmark.
In 1998, Warwick Hotels began using a technology to connect to the global distribution system (GDS) and process online RFPs.
In 2007, Warwick Hotels and Resorts purchased the hotel, formerly known as the Melrose, adding to its collection of distinct and unique hotels which include the Warwick New York, Hotel Westminster in Paris, Warwick Geneva and the Capital Hotel in London.
In 2013, Barrymore Edwards, director of global sales of the Americas at Warwick, recognized their existing RFP system did not adequately meet Warwick’s global vision.
