    Assists in the preparation and distribution of medications and supports the provision of comprehensive pharmacy services under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This position includes sterile compounding of both hazardous (antineoplastic) and non-hazardous medications, utilizing aseptic technique within a cleanroom environment. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to be successful. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following) Perform sterile compounding (hazardous (antineoplastics) and non-hazardous) under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist Accurately fill medication orders using automated dispensing cabinets and unit dose systems Assists OTIC clinic via product preparation, scheduling, inventory management and compounding Manage product inventory by ensuring medications, supplies, and other necessary products are ordered and stocked appropriately Complete daily, weekly, monthly and scheduled cleaning in the IV room Qualifications EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Pharmacy Department - Current registration as a pharmacy technician or technician trainee with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy is required. Experience - Hospital pharmacy experience, including sterile compounding strongly preferred, but not required. SKILLS AND ABILITIES Thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all area involved. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
