This pharmacist position provides pharmaceutical care services for ambulatory patients of Washington County Hospitals & Clinics. This pharmacist aids as a practitioner-educator to providers, peer pharmacists, students, and other patient-facing healthcare staff. This position serves as a Float Patient Access Specialist, responsible for providing registration and scheduling coverage across multiple WCHC locations, including Rural Health Clinics and hospital-based departments. The Float Specialist ensures consistent, high-quality patient access operations wherever assigned, performing duties with accuracy, professionalism, and a strong commitment to service excellence.In addition to floating coverage, this position is responsible for training all new patient access employees and providing ongoing retraining and competency support for current staff as needed. The PATH Navigator - Financial Access serves as WCHC's primary financial navigation professional, guiding patients and families through complex insurance, coverage, and financial assistance decisions that impact access to care. This role is responsible for interpreting insurance benefits, estimating patient financial responsibility, and evaluating whether Medicaid enrollment, charity care, sliding fee discounts, or alternative financial arrangements are the most appropriate pathway based on each patient's circumstances. The PATH Navigator exercises independent judgment and discretion on matters of significance related to patient financial access, balancing patient advocacy with regulatory compliance and organizational policy. This position is responsible for collecting accurate blood specimens from inpatients and outpatients in a timely manner. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following) Collect blood specimens from in-patients and outpatients, remote locations, via venipuncture and skin puncture according to physician orders and applicable regulations, policies and procedures to ensure complete and accurate specimens for testing. Explain collection procedures and provides general testing information as needed to facilitate patient understanding and reduce patient anxiety. Respond to calls from Emergency Room, Nursing units, and Same Day Surgery for specimen collection as needed; procures Medical-surgical patient collections per schedule. This position is expected to assess patients nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory into clinical practice. The position must be able to apply nursing theory to assess, treat and evaluate safe patient care and continue to analyze ongoing assessment data to determine safe patient outcomes. This position requires State Licensure as Registered Nurse (RN) who will collaborate and integrate information from patient and family working with the multi-disciplinary team members. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following) Maintain adequate records reflecting patient condition, medications, and treatments. Make complete rounds and check condition of assigned patients to ensure maximum care and to determine need for additional or modified services.
