    Performs a variety of housekeeping and janitorial duties, as well as special function set- ups and moving furniture. This position will operate on an 8-hour schedule as outlined and scheduled by management. Duties and Responsibilities Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and wax floors. Machine shampoo carpeting. Clean walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, light fixtures, window blinds, brass, and other interior fixtures. Wash interior and exterior windows and glass doors. Clean and empty trash cans. Sweep entryways, empty exterior cigarette urns, and empty trashcans immediately outside building entrances. Clean restrooms, plunger sinks and toilets, and replenish supplies. Organize and supply custodial closets as needed. Move, remove, and/or setup furniture, furnishings, supplies, equipment, and any other items, inside specified rooms for special functions as directed. Change interior light bulbs that can be reached from the sixth step of a ladder or lower. Follow prescribed safety regulations and informs management of potential risks or hazards. Complete work requests to notify management of needed repair work. Remove snow and ice and apply salt and/or ice melting products to steps and entryways at assigned buildings to a minimum distance of 10' or to the adjacent main walkway that's maintained by the grounds staff. Make minor repairs such as, but not limited specifically to, replacing sweeper belts or removing light fixture covers as required. Must be willing to learn new procedures and techniques for completing tasks when the college arranges training sessions. Must participate with overtime staff coverage, as needed, to address campus needs and will participate on the physical plant weekly "on-call" listing. Refusal to participate will be subject to disciplinary action. Additional job-related duties as required by the supervisor. Assist in loading and unloading trucks during major moves as required. Removes snow and ice from College roads, parking lots, sidewalks and steps. May perform athletic and event set-ups and break down as required. Qualifications Able to read, write and comprehend at a level appropriate to the duties of the position. No prior work experience required. Ability to follow instructions given either orally or in writing. Good interpersonal skills. Must be able to work with a diverse group of people. Willingness to learn. The Department of History invites applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor appointment in European history before 1750, beginning in August 2026. We are open to all subfields, but we will give preference to candidates with research and/or teaching interests that intersect with the histories of art, architecture, or visual culture. The successful candidate must have their Ph.D. in history or closely related field by August 2026 and demonstrate strong potential as a teacher and a scholar. Washington & Jefferson College encourages faculty to participate in interdisciplinary programs. Currently, the history department offers courses that support the college's Religious Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, Social Justice Studies, Latin American Studies, Asian Studies, and African American Studies programs. Duties and Responsibilities Lead the design, planning, and implementation of the PA program, including curriculum development, assessment strategies, and program policies. Oversee the ARC-PA accreditation process, including preparation of the application, self-study reports, and site visit coordination. Establish the program's vision, mission, and long-term strategic goals in alignment with institutional priorities. Recruit, hire, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff. Ensure compliance with ARC-PA standards, institutional policies, and state/federal regulations. Develop and manage program budgets, resource allocation, and operational planning. Oversee student admissions processes, academic progression, and program evaluation. Foster a culture of academic excellence, professionalism, and student-centered learning. Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical partners to secure high-quality clinical rotation sites. Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Education to ensure clinical experience meets program and accreditation standards. Teach within the PA curriculum as appropriate. Engage in scholarly activity, professional development, and service to the institution and profession. Represent the program within the institution and to external stakeholders. Promote the program's visibility and reputation through community outreach, professional organizations, and partnerships. Qualifications Graduate of an ARC-PA-accredited PA program. Master's degree required, doctoral degree preferred. Current NCCPA certification (or equivalent for physicians). Eligible for licensure as a PA (or physician) in Pennsylvania. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in PA education, including leadership or administrative roles. Demonstrated experience with ARC-PA accreditation processes. Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Supervisory Duties None, initially. After the hire, the program director will supervisor appropriate administrative support and, at the appropriate time, a clinical director and faculty within the program.
