This position coordinates administration, management, participant recruitment, and collection of behavioral and neuroimaging data for research studies. Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
* Participates in the recruitment of study participants as identified in related protocol; visits with study participants to explain study, screens for eligibility and obtains informed consent of participants.
* Completes all necessary paperwork/documentation according to study protocol; obtains consent, interviews study subjects and schedules follow-ups as needed.
* Coordinates the collection of behavioral and neuroimaging data, recruits, screens, schedules, and enrolls study participants, confers with participants to explain the purpose of study and obtain informed consent, administers/scores cognitive tests and interviews, acquires neuroimaging data (i.e., runs MRI scanner), interacts with participating patients and their families, completes all necessary paperwork/documentation according to study protocol.
* Performs basic/scripted assessments to confirm eligibility to participate in study; explains and schedules laboratory and diagnostic procedures and/or treatment as required in the study; refers participants to basic resources as necessary.
* Collects data from study participants, medical records, interviews, questionnaires, diagnostic tests and other sources; performs basic evaluation and interpretation of collected data and prepares appropriate reports and documentation as necessary; prepares and distributes study packets and information.
* Maintains regulatory records, reports and issues appropriate for all protocols, participants involved, participant fees, and imaging costs.
* Responsible for submission of new protocols, protocol renewals, and completed or discontinued protocols through the IRB and NeuroImaging Laboratory.
* Organization and management of behavioral and MRI data for research functions.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

The Senior Finance and Research Administrator is part of the Finance & Research Administration (FRA) team at CARB-X supporting all financial functions.
The Senior Finance and Research Administrators responsible for managing an assigned portfolio of Product Developers (PDs) who are awarded funding from CARB-X. The Senior Finance and Research Administrator manages all pre- and post-award activities (processing, set-up, monitoring and reporting obligations under several external sources). The incumbent will coordinate with multiple internal CARB-X teams (Executive, Project Management, Legal, Compliance, Communication, Research & Development) and other Boston University departments (Sponsored Programs, Research Compliance, and General Counsel) as well as with external constituents to ensure all aspects of award management, compliance, and financial operations are in line with all Product Development and Portfolio Management needs and expectations as well as supporting the mission of CARB-X. Reporting to the Senior Associate Director, Finance & Research Administration, the Senior Finance and Research Administrator will play a critical role in PD management, business process improvement, and financial operations support necessary for the optimal management of the entire CARB-X portfolio. Additionally, the Senior Finance and Research Administrator will provide support in financial systems and reporting to the Sr AD FRA, in refreshing data, reviewing metrics, reviewing reconciliation reports, and helping to resolve discrepancies. Specific responsibilities are listed below.
Budget development, monitoring and management of a sub-portfolio of Product Developers
Work with the CARB-X team at all stages of the PD award process from pre-award to post-award, and close-out. In Pre-award, for a portfolio of Product Developers, lead review of application budget workbooks, contract set-ups through the Sponsored Program office, and training of award recipients on award requirements and compliance. In post-award, essential functions will include analysis and processing of financial activity, review and approval of financial transactions (invoices, purchase orders, consulting agreements, etc.), quarterly financial reporting, monitoring of burn rates and other relevant metrics. Advise on and prepare/execute various types of award actions requests, such as supplements, no costs extensions, rebudgeting, new phases, etc. on behalf of CARB-X participants, with appropriate justification. Identify financial risks and propose mitigation opportunities.
Compliance with contract terms and regulations
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research compliance policies and processes, including awareness of how new entities become compliant with animal (OLAW, NC3R) and human subjects (OHRP, clinical oversight) research requirements, and the pre-requisite conditions for institutional and funder approvals. Collaborate effectively with BU Central Offices at all stages to ensure alignment and effective outcomes of financial and project compliance elements of the contracted CARB-X projects. Ensure conformance to the budget by award recipients, in tandem with project milestones, and that all costs are allowable, allocable, reasonable, and consistently treated and in compliance with BU sponsor regulations. Advise CARB-X accelerators and product developers to ensure proper compliance with BU, US federal, and all sponsor rules and regulations. Administer monthly payment invoices and verify expenses are in line with the budget and that cost share obligations are appropriately managed. Conduct PD financial site visits as applicable to ensure compliance.
Business process improvements
Instrumental in proactive identification of problems and resolutions. Contribute to the ongoing development of new systems, processes, and tools to help achieve goals. Assist with documentation of financial business processes in run books, SOPs, to ensure repeatability of processes. Actively engage in BU and CARB-X efforts to develop efficient processes and resolve bottlenecks. Contribute as a team member of the pre-award cycle application processes and post-award client support services
Support financial systems and reporting
Support CARB-X Financial Systems and Reporting by refreshing data used in reporting, reviewing metrics to inform reporting, reviewing reconciliation reports to ensure data integrity between business systems, and helping to resolve discrepancies by identifying variances and investigating sources of variances. Work across FRA team to make corrections to data within financial business systems, and help to identify data needing correction by other teams at CARB-X. The Michigan Cardiovascular Outcomes Research and Reporting Program (MCORRP) is a small, collaborative group of researchers focused on studying uncommon conditions and improving patient health and processes of care at Michigan Medicine and globally. The employee will participate in studies on: pacemaker reuse in economically developing nations; cardiac sarcoidosis; fibromuscular dysplasia; acute aortic dissection; pulmonary hypertension; and critical care cardiology. This role requires 2 days per week on site, with time spent at the MCORRP office at Domino?s Farms in Ann Arbor as well as 1 day per week in Southfield at World Medical Relief. While at World Medical Relief, the employee will assist with all facets of pacemaker and ICD reprocessing to support a groundbreaking study of relief efforts aimed at re-purposing life-saving devices in countries where treatment is otherwise unavailable. Position Summary
The Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities (CIDD) is one of the largest programs for developmental disabilities in the country and is UNC-Chapel Hill's primary source for treatment, education, and research on developmental disabilities. In addition, CIDD provides important, state-of-the-art resources aimed at supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and their families in the state of North Carolina and promotes research on the pathogenesis and treatment of these conditions. The CIDD employs approximately 100 faculty, staff and students and has funding comprised of state, contract and grant, overhead, gift, foundation and receipt generated sources.
This will assist with several research projects at the CIDD of UNC School of Medicine, including assisting with recruitment, scheduling, acquiring MRIs in babies in the evening, and assisting with other data collection as needed. The position will require coordination with various researchers and research coordinators here at UNC as well as with research families, in order to achieve project goals in an effective manner. As such, the person filling this position will need to have excellent communication skills and bedside manner with families and child participants, including babies. This position will report to Dr. Mark Shen.
Duties include:
* Recruitment and scheduling of young children with developmental disabilities and their families.
* Assisting with MRI scan process: Attend MRI scans in the evening, prepare the MRI suite, meet the family and complete necessary paperwork, assist with getting the subject prepared for the scanner, supply families with any needed training materials for their scan, stay through the completion of the scan to transfer data if needed, and any necessary follow-up (e.g., rescheduling).
* Assisting with other data collection: Assist PI and study team with collecting information for research projects. This involves interviews, either on the phone or in person, with families to guide their entry into projects as well as for general project data collection. Assist with bio sample data collection as needed.

We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated, self-driven person to work as a part of vibrant group in a fast-paced environment. This person will work in a collegial environment and join a multidisciplinary, diverse team in a well-established, well-funded research group, currently 30+ dynamic members, to explore the frontiers of neurodegenerative diseases. The NGI generates and analyzes Whole-Genome and high-throughput multi-dimensional omics data to study neurodegenerative diseases of the central nervous system. The goal of our research is to use genomic and multi-omic approaches to understand the biology neurodegenerative diseases.
Under the direction of the Research Coordinators or PI, they will participate in moderately complex clinicalresearch study activities. The ClinicalResearch Study Assistant will be responsible for multiple study's biospecimens including, but not limited to: blood, plasma, serum, and brain. They will perform a variety of duties including the oversight, organization and handling of these biospecimen samples for these multiple studies. They will ship samples and be responsible for an accurate manifest. They will be trained on the lab's database system to maintain the order of the samples. They will be responsible for assembling outgoing biospecimen kits for multiple studies. As needed, they will draw blood from research participants at our various clinics. This person will work in a collegial environment and join a multidisciplinary, diverse team in a well-established, well-funded research group, currently 30+ dynamic members, to explore the frontiers of neurodegenerative diseases. The NGI generates and analyzes Whole-Genome and high-throughput multi-dimensional omics data to study neurodegenerative diseases of the central nervous system. The goal of our research is to use genomic and multi-omic approaches to understand the biology neurodegenerative diseases.
Under the direction of the Research Coordinators or PI, they will participate in moderately complex clinicalresearch study activities. The ClinicalResearch Study Assistant will be responsible for multiple study's biospecimens including, but not limited to: blood, plasma, serum, and brain. They will perform a variety of duties including the oversight, organization and handling of these biospecimen samples for these multiple studies. They will ship samples and be responsible for an accurate manifest. They will be trained on the lab's database system to maintain the order of the samples. They will be responsible for assembling outgoing biospecimen kits for multiple studies. As needed, they will draw blood from research participants at our various clinics.
