  • Perform complete pre- and post-operation inspection of the vehicle in accordance with Company policy to ensure tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges, and controls are in proper working order. Report any safety issues on standard reports.
  • Safely operate his or her heavy truck along his or her designated route and to the disposal site; read route sheet, follow map and service each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by the dispatcher and/or supervisor.
  • Courteously interact with all customers, dispatchers and others on a daily basis to ensure all customer routes are serviced in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identify unsatisfactory waste containers and tag containers in accordance with applicable departmental procedures.
  • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste.
  • Clean area around an accidental waste spill, ensuring adherence to all applicable safety standards and policies.
  • Continuously monitor the condition of the vehicle to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean waste from the packer blade and truck body on each disposal trip.

As the Data Collection Driver II, you will drive advanced mobile leak detection equipment through assigned areas to collect methane emissions data that is utilized by field technicians and the company's Distribution Integrity Management group. Identifies and works with the region's leak survey supervisor and analyst on issues that are found in the field.
***This position requires driving a data collection vehicle at night, with frequent travel, 8:00PM to 6:00AM. Schedule is subject to change.***
Specifically, you'll have the opportunity to:

Measures methane emissions by operating advanced mobile leak detection equipment predominantly at night.
Accurately enters external data collection parameters to ensure equipment utilizes correct algorithms for calculations.
Verifies proper equipment function and documents data collection drives to assure system safety and reliability.
Plans daily route using maps and existing drive data to ensure effective operation of the Data Collection technology and maximum field-of-view coverage.
Participates in the continuous improvement of data collection technologies and methods.
Observes, notes and reports irregularities of driving routes, data collection equipment, and vehicle, to ensure supervision is aware of any potential problems.
Responds to our internal and external customers' requests, questions, and concerns in a manner that meets customer expectations.
Observes, documents, and communicates gas leaks or malfunctioning of equipment and other hazardous conditions to ensure customer and employee safety and compliance with company policy.
Participates in training and cross training to increase job knowledge and competency.
Identifies equipment issues that need to be addressed.
This position is assigned to a district, but will travel throughout the company foot print as needed.

Basic Qualifications:
• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Requires a valid driver's license.
• 2 years of experience in utility maintenance operations or equivalent driving experience.

Preferred Experience, Education and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in driving positions.

As a part of our national expansion efforts, we are adding to our teams. We have immediate openings for a Hazmat Driver Technician in our San Diego office. The Environmental Field Worker/Laborer is responsible for working with asbestos, mold, lead, and/or other hazardous waste removals while adhering to company policies and procedures regarding remediation. The individual will also adhere to EPA, OSHA, and local requirements regarding safety, hazardous materials handling, etc. The individual will participate in occasional industry training, update certifications, and maintain fitness levels as required for the Environmental industry. Other qualifications and responsibilities might arise as deemed necessary by circumstances.
Duties May Include:

Hazardous material containment and clean-up

Healthcare Facility bio-hazard clean-up

Asbestos removal/abatement

Mold Remediation

Lead Abatement

HazMat Driver

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

+ Travel to various job sites to transport equipment and materials, including disposal

+ Perform routed pickups for waste/materials of all types and hazards

+ Assist with debris removal from Jobsite to truck

+ Comfortable with all environments including hot, cold or small confined spaces

+ Daily processing of chemicals and hazardous materials

+ Safe operation of company equipment at all times

+ Be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted

+ Flexible with a schedule that can change daily, including on-call response

+ Ability to respond to company needs with24 hour notice

Qualifications

+ Minimum of 2 years' experience operating commercial vehicles or in the environmental/hazardous waste industry

+ Hazardous Materials Endorsement

+ Pass pre-employment physical, respirator fit-test, and drug screening

+ Valid CA Commercial Class C Driver's license or greater

+ HAZMAT endorsement

+ 40 Hour HAZWOPER training preferred, but not required

+ Must demonstrate an understanding of safe work practices involving lead, asbestos, and biohazard wastes

+ Ability to operate a forklift with proper training
