The City of Overland Park has a part-time Child Watch Attendant position available in the Parks and Recreation Department. Responsible for the safety and supervision of children while their parents are participating in on-site recreation activities or classes at the Community Center. Check in children, collect fees, perform light custodial duties. Engage and conduct activities with children. Primarily provide a positive play atmosphere for children ages 1 year to 10 years of age. Majority of the kids are toddlers and preschool age. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Check in and out children. * Supervise children and enforce rules. * Engage and conduct activities with children. * Operate software programs for all transactions. * Create a playful and safe environment. * Collect program fees. * Perform Light housekeeping duties and Organize toys. * The employee must be punctual and timely in meeting all requirements of performance, including, but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines; beginning and ending assignments on time; and scheduled work breaks, where applicable. * The employee must work the days and hours necessary to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks. Must be available (especially during regular business hours or shifts) to communicate with subordinates, supervisors, customers, vendors and any other persons or organization with whom interaction is required to accomplish work and employer goals. REQUIREMENTS: * Minimum 18 years of age * 1 year of experience in childcare watch preferred SKILLS: * Attention to detail. * Basic mathematical and accounting skills. * Human Relations/Interpersonal skills. * Time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and meet deadlines. * Written and oral communication skills.
