We are seeking a motivated and organized undergraduate intern with a passion for supply chain management, project coordination, and technology-driven process improvement. This internship offers hands-on experience in asset tracking, calibration scheduling, vendor coordination, and digital tool implementation. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities * GC Calibration Project * Identify calibration needs, regulatory and internal, across WMRE sites * Organize and schedule calibration activities * Assist in training stakeholders on calibration processes * Deploy and document process * Asset Tracker Development Project * Identify and catalog existing assets * Participate in a site visit to our Engine Overhaul site and document findings * Organize asset data and tracking systems * Schedule and support training sessions * Co-Develop implement asset tracking tools * Asset Tracking Process Connection w/Accounting team * Act as project lead in creating a standardized process for asset transfers working with accounting team * Document and publish workflows and propose improvements * Compliance utility meter tracking Project * Support creation and deployment of QR code tags for assets * Assist in metering tracking using Procore * Identify tracking needs, document processes, and train users * Training & Communication * Develop clear and concise training documents * Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders * Train WMRE operation teams as projects are completed and ready for rollout * III.     The Operator - Heavy Equipment is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: + Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure windows, lights, mirrors and rear view camera are clean.     The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a maintenance shop that is under the umbrella responsibility of a Maintenance Manager. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor's responsibilities include supervising a technician (mechanic) team responsible for preventive maintenance/repair of a fleet; machinery that supports a post-collection facility; repair/maintenance of equipment that services the container shop; and providing direction to technicians to ensure that all repairs/maintenance to equipment (trucks -- diesel and alternate fuel, containers and other heavy duty equipment) are performed in compliance with Company safety and compliance standards, and with all federal and state regulations. The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for planning and scheduling repair work for the work group to ensure that all work is done in a safe and timely manner, reducing lost productivity. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direction to A, B and C level, and lead technicians assigned to work group to ensure that all repair and maintenance work is performed in a safe, efficient and timely manner. Monitor operational performance and efficiency and take action to redirect activities appropriately. Report to management on performance; make recommendations for process/programmatic changes for improvement or efficiencies. Supervise technicians in maintenance shop, including such responsibilities as conducting daily shop huddles; fleet walks; coaching/counseling/ training lead technician and all technician levels on performance/corrective action, when necessary; make hiring/termination decisions in concert with Human Resources and appropriate management; conduct employee training and performance evaluations; evaluate and make recommendations for merit increase, promotion and job changes, as appropriate. Perform inspections of outside repairs to ensure all work was properly completed in accordance with Company's safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations; follow up where appropriate. Identify training opportunities and, as necessary, document issues and constructively discuss corrective action, as needed, with technician. Conduct Quality Control Inspections, track issues and resolution to ensure all work is properly completed in accordance with Company's safety and compliance procedures and federal and state regulations. Oversee repair diagnostics on more complex matters and provide coaching, where necessary; may be required to road test vehicles to determine necessary repairs. Oversee maintenance shop inventory control system to ensure necessary equipment and parts levels are maintained and purchases are within budget. Review and approve expenses that are within scope of approval level; refer larger expenses or major repairs to manager as appropriate. Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, emission systems, transmission, brake, hydraulic and electrical systems to perform advanced preventive and repair maintenance functions on heavy equipment and vehicles used by Company, on site and on the road, including: engine chassis repair and maintenance; knowledge of vehicle body control systems, including hydraulics and electrical systems to maintain and repair vehicles in a timely and safe manner; knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems to effectively diagnose and repair complex heating and cooling systems in vehicles in a timely and safe manner; and knowledge of welding tools to fix heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner to ensure equipment is back in an operable condition as quickly and as safely as possible. Manage related administrative matters for team, including payroll, maintenance of employee records, records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed, recording of all information into Dossier Maintenance Software, prepare and submit budget for approval, set departmental goals to align with targets and performance objectives established by division's leadership.     The Sales Coordinator, Special Waste provides technical guidance, support, and coordination of the processes and procedures developed to evaluate, approve and accept special waste streams at a Republic Landfill. The Sales Coordinator, Special Wast also ensures compliance with solid waste permits, State and Federal regulatory requirements and internal Company policies. This would include functioning as a liaison between the field Sales Representative(s), the Corporate Special Waste Department and the Landfill for the preparation, field review, submittal, formal review and approval (or rejection) of Special Waste Profiles. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Special Waste Representative(s), and the existing or potential new customers, in coordinating the completion of the special waste profiles for review and submittal for approval. Performs field level review of the completed special waste profiles, analytical results and ensures analytical testing requirements are achieved prior to submitting to the Corporate Special Waste Department for approval. Submits completed documentation to the Corporate Special Waste Department for formal review and approval for special waste acceptance. Communicates with the Corporate Special Waste Department on pending profiles and acts as a liaison between the Corporate office and the Sales Representatives and/or Customer and Republic Divisions in resolving technical deficiencies or request for additional testing or waste characterization. Distributes approved profile documentation to the Landfill for their files and communicates rejected or incomplete profiles to the Sales Representative for resolution with Customer. Proactively monitors approved special waste profiles for expiration dates and coordinates with the Special Waste Representative(s) or Customer on the re-certification process, schedules and required analytical data and/or documentation. Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the current State, Federal, Landfill or Company's special waste rules, requirements and processes. Submits State-required applications and/or notifications as required. Manages the special waste profiles, documentation and analytical reports for existing and potential customers. Tracks pending files and transfer and maintain historical files to an electronic file for storage. Sells small quantity generator call-in business as defined by the Director, Special Waste Sales. Regularly meets with the Director, Special Waste Sales, General Manager and Special Waste Representative(s) for review of monthly special waste activity reports and customer relationship activities as required. Assists in production and distribution of marketing materials for promotion of special waste and landfill disposal services. Participates in Company-sponsored activities as required. Completes proactive job-related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of State, Federal and/or Landfill special waste rules, requirements and processes. Must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills. Basic knowledge of marketing, presentation and sales techniques required.
