**Description:** Will train on weekdays and transfer to weekend shift 9 x 80\. 1\. Operates various controls and processes required in the collection storing, processing, distribution and transportation of industrial wastewater, regulated and special wastes to ensure compliance with mandated regulations and permits\. Responds to hazardous material incidents to support containment and clean\-up of materials to protect personnel and the environment\. Performs process and emergency sampling as required\.
2\. Maintains current skills training required by regulations and permits\.
3\. Maintain and operates wastewater collection, including washing, jet cleaners and vacuum truck cleaning\. Monitors waste water treatment operations and makes necessary adjustments to controls, valves, pumps and other mechanical and electrical equipment as required\. Adds chemicals needed for the treatment of wastewater, such as chlorine and lime\. Performs analysis such as turbidity, pH, ORP, chlorine residual, temperature to ensure compliant waste management operations and to determine doses of treatment chemicals required to ensure compliance\.
4\. Operates and supports various systems in the Chemical Processing Facility in support of metal finishing operations\. Monitor, pump and treat wastewater\. Monitor spills in lab\.
4\. Performs minor maintenance and emergency repairs to equipment to ensure continued waste management operations, such as lubrication, chemical feed line cleaning/replacement, reset breakers/equipment and pumper truck fitting/connections\. Contacts maintenance group for major overhauls and repairs\. Performs necessary housekeeping to maintain safe working conditions\. Operates company vehicles and equipment in support of waste management responsibilities\.
5\. Collects and maintains records related to the regulated waste and wastewater operational duties of the operator\.
6\. Operates vacuumed pumper trucks and trailers and dispositions all wastewater in compliance with Regulatory Permits and Standard Operating Procedures \(SOPs\)\. Pump items such as: Industrial tanks, containment, storm water, Chiller/Tower cleaning, utility line leaks, excavation, sanitary clean up, building flooding, etc\. Performs maintenance, such as tank, pump, and filter cleanings\.
7\. Follow direction given by an Operator in Responsible Charge \(ORC\) and in Standard Operating Procedures \(SOPs\), in accordance Colorado Regulation 5 CCR 1003\-2 100\.

Scope of Work:
Provide operational support to the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Responsibilities:
Water Plant Operations
Operate and control treatment plant equipment to purify and clarify water for human or industrial use.
Regulate flow of raw water and dosage of treatment chemicals (e.g., chlorine, polymer, fluoride) using electric motors, valves, and automated systems (SCADA/HMI).
Monitor filtration and chemical mixing processes, adjust flow rates and pressure, and ensure proper water distribution.
Perform backwashing, equipment cleaning, and routine maintenance using hand and power tools.
Test water samples for acidity, turbidity, and chemical content using lab instruments.
Record operational data and chemical levels. May also operate portable water-purification systems and assist with wastewater treatment as needed.
Wastewater Plant Operations
Operate and monitor sewage treatment and sludge processing equipment to manage flow and treatment of wastewater.
Adjust valves, gates, and controls (manual or remote) based on readings from gauges, meters, and test results.
Start/stop pumps, engines, and generators to support various treatment stages (screening, aeration, digestion).
Maintain logs of plant operations and meter readings.
Direct plant attendants in routine tasks and perform water quality testing using lab equipment.
Perform preventative, operational, and corrective maintenance as required.
Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Possess knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the job.
Must possess current Certification of Operators of Wastewater Treatment Plants per WAC 173-230.
Per WAC 246-292, must possess current Waterworks Operator Certification-WWTPO 2 or higher, or WDM 2 or higher, and a minimum of a WWTPO 1 or WDM1, in the other certification that is not a Level 2.
Backflow Testing Certification and Backflow Specialty Plumbers License preferred.

About the role
We are seeking a full-time Wastewater Operator to work on-site at digester facilities located in Minster. OH.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing duties and making process decisions to manage the quality of treated effluent at our industrial food and beverage anaerobic digester pretreatment facilities.
This role requires the ability to monitor, troubleshoot, and diagnose plant processing pumps, piping, tanks, and equipment. The Wastewater Operator must be able to collaborate and communicate with various people including plant operators, outside vendors, and managers.
This is a flexible role and may require some on-call or weekend hours. Schedule to be determined.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor all parameters and performance of plant and equipment, including hydraulic flows, temperatures, pH, COD, VFA, pressures, and renewable power generation.
Conduct compliance audits, safety inspections, provide routine reporting and upload results in required tracking system.
Optimize facility throughput, including feedstock volume, effluent volume, and renewable energy production.
Inventory control of consumables, such as chemicals, reagents, and spare parts utilizing CMMS.
Oversee the biological process, feedstock receiving, hydraulic pumping, chemical feed systems, filtration systems, phosphorus sequestration, dewatered solids removal, and biogas utilization system.
Ensure compliance with state and local wastewater permits, air quality permits, and solid waste permits.
Maintain OH State Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator License and continuing education.
Qualifications
Current Ohio Grade II Industrial Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate (or higher), preferred.
Three years of relevant experience as an operator, in RNG, construction, and/or in industrial maintenance.
Familiarity with mechanical and electrical systems and/or ability to assist/work on pumps, piping, electric motors, generators, instruments, and basic building maintenance.
Experience with the use of PLC's, controls, and instruments (pressure, temperature, flow, pH).
Basic computer skills including spreadsheets, email, PDF's, document downloading, ordering, cost reporting, & timesheets.
Experience coordinating and working with welders, plumbers, electricians, insulators, and startup technicians,

Experience using a CMMS - FIIX experience,

Will train on weekdays and transfer to weekend shift 9 x 80. 1. Operates various controls and processes required in the collection storing, processing, distribution and transportation of industrial wastewater, regulated and special wastes to ensure compliance with mandated regulations and permits. Responds to hazardous material incidents to support containment and clean-up of materials to protect personnel and the environment. Performs process and emergency sampling as required.
2. Maintains current skills training required by regulations and permits.
3. Maintain and operates wastewater collection, including washing, jet cleaners and vacuum truck cleaning. Monitors waste water treatment operations and makes necessary adjustments to controls, valves, pumps and other mechanical and electrical equipment as required. Adds chemicals needed for the treatment of wastewater, such as chlorine and lime. Performs analysis such as turbidity, pH, ORP, chlorine residual, temperature to ensure compliant waste management operations and to determine doses of treatment chemicals required to ensure compliance.
4. Operates and supports various systems in the Chemical Processing Facility in support of metal finishing operations. Monitor, pump and treat wastewater. Monitor spills in lab.

Performs minor maintenance and emergency repairs to equipment to ensure continued waste management operations, such as lubrication, chemical feed line cleaning/replacement, reset breakers/equipment and pumper truck fitting/connections. Contacts maintenance group for major overhauls and repairs. Performs necessary housekeeping to maintain safe working conditions. Operates company vehicles and equipment in support of waste management responsibilities.
5. Collects and maintains records related to the regulated waste and wastewater operational duties of the operator.
6. Operates vacuumed pumper trucks and trailers and dispositions all wastewater in compliance with Regulatory Permits and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Pump items such as: Industrial tanks, containment, storm water, Chiller/Tower cleaning, utility line leaks, excavation, sanitary clean up, building flooding, etc. Performs maintenance, such as tank, pump, and filter cleanings.
7. Follow direction given by an Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) and in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in accordance Colorado Regulation 5 CCR 1003-2 100.

Scope of Work:
Provide operational support to the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Responsibilities:
Water Plant Operations
Operate and control treatment plant equipment to purify and clarify water for human or industrial use.
Regulate flow of raw water and dosage of treatment chemicals (e.g., chlorine, polymer, fluoride) using electric motors, valves, and automated systems (SCADA/HMI).
Monitor filtration and chemical mixing processes, adjust flow rates and pressure, and ensure proper water distribution.
Perform backwashing, equipment cleaning, and routine maintenance using hand and power tools.
Test water samples for acidity, turbidity, and chemical content using lab instruments.
Record operational data and chemical levels. May also operate portable water-purification systems and assist with wastewater treatment as needed.
Wastewater Plant Operations
Operate and monitor sewage treatment and sludge processing equipment to manage flow and treatment of wastewater.
Adjust valves, gates, and controls (manual or remote) based on readings from gauges, meters, and test results.
Start/stop pumps, engines, and generators to support various treatment stages (screening, aeration, digestion).
Maintain logs of plant operations and meter readings.
Direct plant attendants in routine tasks and perform water quality testing using lab equipment.
Perform preventative, operational, and corrective maintenance as required.
Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Possess knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the job.
Must possess current Certification of Operators of Wastewater Treatment Plants per WAC 173-230.
Per WAC 246-292, must possess current Waterworks Operator Certification-WWTPO 2 or higher, or WDM 2 or higher, and a minimum of a WWTPO 1 or WDM1, in the other certification that is not a Level 2.
Backflow Testing Certification and Backflow Specialty Plumbers License preferred.

Education and Experience:

4. Operates and supports various systems in the Chemical Processing Facility in support of metal finishing operations. Monitor, pump and treat wastewater. Monitor spills in lab.

Performs minor maintenance and emergency repairs to equipment to ensure continued waste management operations, such as lubrication, chemical feed line cleaning/replacement, reset breakers/equipment and pumper truck fitting/connections. Contacts maintenance group for major overhauls and repairs. Performs necessary housekeeping to maintain safe working conditions. Operates company vehicles and equipment in support of waste management responsibilities.
5. Collects and maintains records related to the regulated waste and wastewater operational duties of the operator.
6. Operates vacuumed pumper trucks and trailers and dispositions all wastewater in compliance with Regulatory Permits and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Pump items such as: Industrial tanks, containment, storm water, Chiller/Tower cleaning, utility line leaks, excavation, sanitary clean up, building flooding, etc. Performs maintenance, such as tank, pump, and filter cleanings.
7. Follow direction given by an Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) and in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), in accordance Colorado Regulation 5 CCR 1003-2 100.

Conduct process control and lab analysis in support of NPDES permit compliance.
Assist with maintenance and repair of plant equipment, tanks, pumps, lift stations, and vehicles.
Help maintain facility structures and grounds, including mowing, snow removal, and cleaning.
Notify supervisors when chemicals are needed and assist with setting samplers, flow meters, and other monitoring devices.
Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
Respond to emergency situations outside of regular working hours as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
Valid Ohio Driver's License and insurability under the City's insurance plan.
Ohio EPA Class I Wastewater Operator License required.
Must obtain an Ohio EPA Class II Wastewater Operator License within four (4) years of appointment.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operations, maintenance, and laboratory procedures.
Familiarity with SCADA systems and data entry for environmental reporting.
Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to recognize operational issues and respond appropriately.
Work Environment
Exposure to chemicals, confined spaces, loud noise, and inclement weather.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and work in physically demanding environments.
Classified as medium work per U.S. Department of Labor standards.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting Hourly Rate: $23.20
Shift Differential: Up to 10% may apply
