Ensure that needs of the aquatic center are being met by folding towels; cleaning; filling water machines; and inspecting the Aquatics Facility to ensure safe environment for members. Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid certification. Meet HealthFitness Fitness and Skill standards. Be dependable, alert and able to interact with people of all ages in a positive manner with strong customer service skills. Computer proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook; and working knowledge of the member management system, databases, and tools. Applicants must meet hiring requirements including but not limited to pre-employment drug test. All lifeguards are required to perform a basic lifeguard skill test consisting of: 500 yard swim. Active, Passive, Submerged rescues. Spinal injury management in shallow and deep water. Other various techniques that were learned during the Lifeguard Training Program. Wears the required Goldfish Swim School uniform while on duty. Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. 1. Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an accident or emergency. 2. Communicate the rules of the facility to patrons fairly and consistently. 3. Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services. 4. Ensures that medical services (EMS or other) are contacted by most appropriate means when necessary to respond to an emergency. 5. Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times and maintains a high standard of customer service. 6. Completes accident/incident reports as necessary. 7. Maintains a clean and safe facility as directed/assigned. 8. Assists with closing and securing the facility. 9. Work 1 swim instructor shift per week 10. All other duties as assigned Education/Experience: Lifeguard, CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications. Prefer 6 months experience as lifeguard at an aquatic facility or camp. Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
