In this exciting role as a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer, you will have responsibility for management of supplier transfers within the Release Product Continuous Improvement team. You will have responsibility for and authority to provide Quality Assurance Engineering representation to select business teams facilitating front-end design, design transfer to manufacturing, and process improvements to obtain optimum product reliability, safety, and effectiveness. Coordinate feedback of quality indicators and statistics to business team for use in business decisions. Perform, direct, or consult in supplier validations. QA approvals for Engineering Change Notices, test methods, and test equipment to assure the design and production of medical devices are in compliance with applicable standards. Drive investigations, corrective action implementation, and corrective action verification activities assigned to business teams.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

* Lead QMS integration activities per Medtronic requirements.

* Lead Product Qualification activities ensuring suppliers are capable of delivering quality products, materials, and services.

* Define component qualification strategy (PPAP), partner with suppliers to develop qualification plan, report performance, and demonstrate release readiness. Author or review key component engineering lifecycle deliverables throughout product development, as defined by procedures. Define control plans to ensure appropriate acceptance activities.

* Provides technical guidance and quality compliance for Supplier Quality engagement throughout the Product lifecycle.

* Provide routine communication and updates to leadership regarding supplier activities and performance.

* Lead and develop the Product Acceptance Strategy for incoming inspection and associated test method validation for all internal Medtronic Test Methods.

* Supports and prioritizes an auditing schedule to ensure that designated suppliers are audited on a regular basis to ensure good manufacturing practices (GMP) and quality standards are met.

* Evaluates suppliers' internal functions to assess their overall performance and provides feedback in assessment of their operation.

* Evaluates and acts as a lead in processing and approving supplier change requests.

* Travel requirement: less than 25%

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

* Bachelors degree required

* Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field.

* 7+ years of work experience in Engineering, Quality, and/or experience in a regulated industry OR Advanced Degree in Engineering, Science or technical field with 5+ years of work experience.

* Requires mastery level knowledge of specialty area and working knowledge of several other areas, typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have deep knowledge of project management.

Nice to Have

* Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, science or technical field

* ASQ CQE, CQA and/or CSQP certification

* First Time Quality Coach (FTQ) / Six Sigma/ DFSS / Lean Green Belt or Black Belt certified

* Knowledge with PPAP process and part/product validation and qualification.

* Strong knowledge of metrology & measurement techniques; statistical analysis (Cpk, standard deviation, etc) in Minitab, measurement uncertainty, GD&T, Gauge Repeatability & Reproducibility

* Demonstrated track record of effectively influencing and negotiating with suppliers and leading effective/successful change initiatives

* Strong communication, organizational, presentation and project planning skills

* Must be able to work in a team environment and exert influence without alienating others.

DOWL holds a number of rural Alaska term contracts which are focused on providing modern water and sanitary sewer design to some of the most impoverished and remote parts of the State of Alaska. DOWL is seeking an enthusiastic Water Resources Engineer to join our Water Supply and Wastewater group. DOWL's team of Water Resource Engineers provides a wide range of services including water supply development, design of water distribution systems, storage tanks, pump stations, sanitary sewer collection systems and lift stations, and water and wastewater treatment systems Our projects and clients span the western United States from Alaska to Arizona and from Montana to Washington. The position will involve a wide range of responsibilities and work assignments, including both office and field work.
Typical Tasks Include:

+ Assist in marketing the services of the Water Practice and other company service lines.

+ Provide client management including active marketing, frequent client communication, client visits, and pursuit of new clients and projects.

+ Project management including development of proposals, scope, schedule and budget.

+ Assist with Project and Task Manager work for moderate to complex, interdisciplinary projects

+ Perform or assist with the management and planning, evaluation and design of water supply distribution networks, storage tanks, pump stations, sanitary sewer collection systems and lift stations, water and wastewater treatment plants and other related projects.

+ Conduct field reviews and inspections of water and wastewater systems

+ Perform field investigations, analysis of alternative solutions, cost estimating, development of construction plans and specifications, and technical report writing.

+ Conduct periodic site visits to construction sites to monitor quality and progress of work

+ Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will:

+ Develop creative and cost-effective design solutions to challenging water infrastructure projects

+ Participate in interdisciplinary teams and contribute in meaningful ways

+ Mentor and train junior staff

+ Communicate with project partners and clients

+ Understand and/or apply state-of-the-art tools, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, AutoCAD Plant 3D, ArcGIS, Innovyze/WaterCAD modeling, Innovyze/SewerCAD sewer modeling

+ Experience a diverse range of work environments

+ Travel locally and out of state to project sites for meetings or field work

+ Consistently exercise discretion and judgment in all work tasks

Education and/or Experience

Candidates should possess, at a minimum, a B.S. degree (M.S. degree preferred) from an ABET-accredited Civil, Agricultural, or Bioresource engineering program with significant coursework in water resources and at least 8 years of progressive experience in analysis and design experience in the water resource engineering field.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

+ PE Required: This position is for a licensed engineer to practice Civil Engineering in the state of primary practice or should be licensed in a different state with the ability to get the required license within 6 months of hire.

+ Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
