• Ability to travel ~50%
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable motor vehicle record
• 3-5 years of work experience in a field using mechanical principles
• Experience in water treatment or related industry a plus
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with several days of travel followed by several days off
• Able to pass a drug and background check per the company requirements
• Must be able to perform physical work that requires bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, turning, and lifting and moving inventory and products that weigh 50 lbs
• Able to manage time and priorities independently without supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The Waste Water Technician III role will be responsible for maintaining wastewater treatment, boiler steam generation systems, hot water systems, air compressors.
PAY RATE: $20 PER HOUR



Responsibilities



Duties and Essential Job Functions:


1. Maintain all equipment in the wastewater system (Building utilities, pumps, tanks, DAF, order control) to ensure all water discharged to the city is within compliance to permit

2. Maintain all (including daily checks) Boilers and boiler rooms (ensure all areas are clean and orderly)

3. Maintain all (including daily checks) Hot Water System (ensure all areas are clean and orderly)

4. Maintain all (including daily checks) Air Compressors (ensure all areas are clean and orderly)

5. Any other duties as assigned.


Work Environment:


While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud and requires that hearing protection be worn in production areas always.


Qualifications



Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:


Lift up to 80 pounds occasionally

Stand and work outside for 10+ hours

Work around steam and hazardous chemicals

Operate forklift, high-pressure hoses, daft, pumps, electric, and hydraulic hoses

Read, write, and understand simple English

Complete basic math problems

Lock out required

Keep work area clean and free of clutter and debris

Follow all food safety (GMP) and general safety guidelines

Complete other tasks as assigned


Physical Requirements:


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms, and taste and smell. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Our Wastewater Treatment Technicians are responsible for maintaining operational compliance of waste water treatment systems and storage of hazardous waste.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times;
• Operate and maintenance water treatment equipment;
• Monitoring the storage, transport, and disposal of waste;
• Conduct routine sample testing of various compounds throughout the campus.
• Maintain operating records for industrial wastewater, and hazardous waste programs, such as daily, weekly, and monthly reports, per site and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze and act on a variety of data and instrument reading, and respond quickly to site operations problems;
• Performs non-emergency and emergency response activities that deal with biological, chemical and etiological materials;

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

• High School Diploma or GED equivalency;
• 6 or more months of Wastewater Treatment industry experience;
• Valid Driver's License and Clean Motor Vehicle Record;
• Experience using computers including using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
• Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work overtime, support after-hour emergency response, or weekend hours as needed;
• Safety oriented mindset with the determination to follow all procedures and policies.
