WaterTreatment Service Technician

The Service Technician is a field-based position providing hands-on servicing of boiler and cooling water systems for our existing customer base, including but not limited to chemical testing, monitoring, calibration, repair of chemical-feed-related equipment, and visual inspections of systems when necessary. This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
Perform assigned water testing and sampling as required
Communicate, record, and maintain relevant information regarding treatment operations
Schedule service and sales calls, including daily, weekly and monthly reporting
Accurately report service calls
Perform diagnostics on watertreatment equipment: reverse osmosis Systems, water softeners, and other watertreatment/conditioning systems.
Determine system condition, identify malfunctions, and take corrective actions
Provide routine preventative maintenance services; inspection, cleaning, and calibration of system components as necessary to assigned accounts
Assist in identifying additional service needs and opportunities while developing and implementing customized solutions for our customers
Maintain customer chemical inventory which may include lifting
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to build relationships
3-5 years of work experience in a field using mechanical principles
Experience in the watertreatment or related industry a plus
Ability to work flexible schedule, some weekends required
Very organized with exceptional follow-through abilities
Ability to multi-task in an active working environment
Able to pass a drug and background check per the company requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Knowledgeable in MS Office applications
Knowledgeable in a CRM software or related systems
Knowledgeable in using a computer, tablet, smart phone, and other work related technology
This position requires occasionally performing activities including, but not limited to, bending, stooping, grasping, reaching, twisting, turning and/or lifting.
Work is conducted both indoors and out with varying environmental conditions
Must be able perform physical work in a HVAC, cooling towers, or boiler equipment environment requiring exposure to chemicals, noise, hot & cold temperatures and inclement weather
MUST be in good physical ability - the job requires frequent walking to and from worksite.
Valid driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record (DMV record will be checked)
Able to pass a drug and background check per the company requirements
Ability to work flexible schedule, some weekends required depending on the servicing of accounts
Required work activities include but are not limited to, climbing and descending stairs and ladders (from 10-30' in height), sometimes while carrying drums of chemicals weighing up to 50 pounds while maintaining a 3-point ladder contact (per OSHA rules). As of the date of this job description, the available ladders have a weight limit of 375 pounds

Measure and mix chemicals according to specified formulas.
Monitor and adjust process variables such as temperature, pressure, and flow rates.
Follows all provisions of operating instructions. Responsible for the completion and accuracy of all batch ticket data entry. Responsible for meeting standard batch ticket cycle times while maintaining safety and quality.
Perform quality control checks on finished products. Monitors quality of output and takes appropriate action, including shutdown of process, to prevent or limit production. Follows all quality policies and production procedures to ensure quality product is produced.
Operates and monitors chemical processing equipment - Follow standard operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient production.
Stages raw materials and puts away finished product. Responsible for raw material and finished goods location integrity. Package and label finished products for shipment.
Maintain a clean and organized work area. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to the supervisor.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting the Tailings and Water Monitoring Systems which includes, but is not limited to, piezometers, prisms, slope inclinometers, transducers, flow meters and radar scanning equipment.

Combination of office and some mine site work with exposure to dust, loud noise, temperature extremes, wet conditions and uneven terrain.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and troubleshooting the Tailings and Water Monitoring Systems which includes, but is not limited to, piezometers, prisms, slope inclinometers, transducers, flow meters and radar scanning equipment.

* Safety & Compliance: Demonstrate Capstone Copper Values and adhere to all MSHA requirements and Pinto Valley policies. Maintain required certifications and consistently apply safe work practices during field and monitoring activities.
* Field Verification & Access Management: Verify locations of all tailings and water monitoring system instrumentation and update mapping in AutoCAD as new equipment is added. Review access routes to monitoring points and coordinate with site personnel to restore or construct safe and reliable access.
* Instrumentation Protection & Maintenance: Develop and implement protection plans for piezometers, inclinometers, prisms, and other monitoring devices. Perform daily and weekly system health checks, troubleshoot offline or malfunctioning equipment, and maintain KPI reporting on monitoring system performance.
* Real-Time Monitoring & Alerts: Monitor real-time systems to identify variances or threshold exceedances. Promptly notify the Engineer of Record (EoR) and site engineers of system alerts and support follow-up actions.
* Installation & Data Collection: Coordinate with contractors on installation of new and replacement field instrumentation. Collect monitoring data-piezometers, inclinometers, prisms, and related measurements-for environmental reporting, EoR reviews, and engineering analyses.
* Technology Evaluation & Program Support: Assess the effectiveness of existing monitoring systems and research emerging technologies such as Sensemetrics, InSAR, and radar scanning. Assist site engineers in developing training materials and documentation to support the monitoring program.
