Ensures that daily work complies with all established company safety policies. Captures all work performed in Maintenance Connection, an asset management program, per Company policies. * Manually and/or via SCADA system, Operates, maintains, reads, interprets, and records as directed all instruments at the plant and at various remote locations. Makes necessary * adjustments to treatment processes and/or pumping to maintain water quality standards. * Works with Water Treatment Plant personnel to monitor and/or control SCADA * system for effective operation of the Water System. Reacts accordingly to various pumping schemes, main breaks, and operational changes and advises supervisors on potential emergencies. * Performs assigned lab testing (wet chemistry), and sampling as directed in accordance with Ohio EPA certification requirements. * Performs assigned inspections of water treatment plant apparatus and equipment as directed. Driver/coordinator of the 5-year capital plan for assigned divisions/systems. Successful engineer will have discussions with operation personnel to assist in finding the correct projects. Responsible for design of assigned projects (out of ordinary projects - tanks, boosters, lift stations, WTP projects, WWTP projects, regulating vaults, etc.). Setup of projects in Powerplant and SAP for all assigned projects. Maintain communication with permitting agencies and government officials. Responsible for submitting required permits and approvals. Review of waterline and sewer projects. Submittal of annual reports to Ohio EPA. Responsible for obtaining necessary easements for all assigned projects. Responsible for project design, bidding, contract creation, justifications, and invoicing/accounting efforts. Manage construction of assigned projects. Responsible for approval and process of invoices in a timely manner. Complete all necessary paperwork needed for accounting to close the project. Responsible for Due Diligence at potential acquisitions. Other duties as assigned. SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL OR REGISTRATION QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required. Selected candidate must be a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio or have the ability to obtain licensure within agreed upon timeframe from hire date. Four or more years of experience in water and wastewater is preferred. Excellent verbal, written and organization skills are required as is the ability to effectively coordinate multiple projects.
