DEFINITION Under general supervision, to maintain food service facilities and equipment in a neat, clean, safe and sanitary condition; to prepare, serve and sell foods and snacks; to assist in the cleaning of the kitchen and serving areas, utensils and equipment; and to do other related work as required. ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1. Participate in the preparation, packaging and serving of foods, including the preparation of sandwiches, salads, relishes, hot entrees and a variety of other foods. 2. Package foods following predetermined portion control standards. 3. Assist in maintaining the food service facility in a safe, clean and sanitary condition. 4. Assist in the preparation of entrees, vegetables, salads, salad dressings and desserts. 5. May assist in requisitioning, receiving and storing of foodstuffs, supplies and materials. 6. Heat, set up, serve and sell hot and cold foods, salads, beverages, desserts and snacks to students and faculty. 7. Assist in maintaining inventory control and operational records. 8. May act as a cashier, including the counting of monies and developing cash receipt records. 9. Clean serving counters, tables, chairs, food containers and other equipment. 10. Operate dishwasher and wash and store trays, plates, utensils and other serving equipment. 11. May be responsible for the delivery of prepared foods to other locations. 12. Assist in setting up food preparation lines. 13. Clean and store kitchen equipment. 14. Assist in the preparation of food, involving such activities as preparing sandwiches, mixing salads, grating cheese, and preparing fruits and vegetables. 15. May fill vending machines. 16. Performs other related work as required. QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of: Basic methods of preparing and serving foods in large quantities; Type A lunch and breakfast program requirements; Standard food service appliances and equipment; Lunch and breakfast program requirements; Arithmetical calculation processes and simple record keeping procedures. Ability to: Operate a variety of food service equipment; Collect money and make change accurately; Work quickly and efficiently; Understand and carry out oral and written directions; Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships. JOB SUMMARY
Under the general supervision of the manager, the Interpreter will provide translation from English to Spanish and vice-a-versa for various meetings, events, and documents. In recognition of the need for meaningful participation for non- or limited-English-speaking parent(s)/guardian(s) at IEP team meetings, the Special Education Interpreter will provide oral interpretation at IEP team meetings to ensure a high level of service and a clear line of communication between all parties. In addition, Special Education Interpreter will support with written translation of IEP documents into their primary language for parent review. The overall goal is to ensure that parents/guardians have access to timely and accurate translation services. There is a mandatory certification training for any teammate in this role. The training will be provided by Aspire at no expense to the teammate; however, the teammate must make themselves available for the training.
Note that this is a part-time position with hours on an as-needed basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Attend meetings, parent conferences and school events for providing oral translation from English to Spanish and vice versa, items such as IEP meetings.
Translate written documents verbatim from English to Spanish; documents may include Individualized Education Plan (IEPs), Behavior plans, Parent letters, Informational mailings, presentations, or other documents.
Represent Aspire in a way that is consistent with Aspire's mission and values when responding to inquiries from parents and the public.
Participate in trainings, conferences or workshops to maintain skills and build professional growth
Additional:
Demonstrate knowledge of, and support, the Aspire Public Schools mission, vision, value statements including antiracism, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior

JOB SUMMARY

* Serve as a thought partner to the Principal, and contributor on key operational school decisions

* Lead school site emergency preparedness planning and execution in collaboration with colleagues on the Emergency Response Team
* Oversee Cafeteria Manager and any support staff in management of the Nutrition Program
* Manage or supervise management of the school site facility and responds to building management and facilities crises as needed
* Assist Administrative Team and/or Leads in the planning and execution of school-wide events (e.g. Graduation, Saturday School, New Student Orientation, Enrollment Events)
Accounting, Finance and Budget Management
* Collect and process payments for a variety of accounts such as lunch accounts, donations, and fundraisers according to Aspire policy and best practices
* Serve as bookkeeper for school and prepare purchase orders for procurement, submit invoices and ensure timely payment to vendors
* Oversee and organize the free/reduced lunch program and is responsible for reporting
Data Management
* Manages all aspects of the Student Information System and administrative functions ensuring integrity of student demographics, health, scheduling, and academic data
* Responsible for the custody of student files, ensuring they are complete, accurate, and properly organized
* Monitor internal systems for managing and tracking student attendance, truancy management, and chronic absenteeism
* Manage online student enrollment system (e.g. SchoolMint) during the open enrollment period, lottery, and registration
School Leadership
* Manage office and other classified non-instructional staff (Office Assistants, Cafeteria Manager, Campus Monitors, Parent Coordinator, Building Manager, Custodian, as applicable)
* Manage performance of and train, develop and provide continuous feedback to non-teaching teammates
* Support the Principal in the participation of hiring school site teammates
* Seek out and attend relevant Aspire-wide and external professional development opportunities
Other Administrative Tasks
* Coordinate and/or provide translation services for our students and families (as needed)
* Update school website
* Assist principal with all school and extracurricular activities
