SAFETY The Dispatcher (Safety and Security) will be responsible for maintaining operational control of communications for the Atlanta Public Schools Telecommunications Call Center. Responsible for operating various sophisticated technological equipment, monitoring life safety systems, processing and dispatching emergency & non-emergency calls, among other duties as assigned by management. Serves as a major artery to the APS body, as the alarm monitoring center is from where information is collected and disseminated District-wide. The call center is a manifold operation, serving as an emergency operations center, a technical support center, a monitoring center, and a customer service call center. The dispatcher is required to perform in each of those capacities while demonstrating optimal customer service skills. The call center 24/7, 365 days of the year; therefore, the dispatcher must be able to perform shift work, including holidays, weekends, mandatory overtime, and serve in an on-call rotations capacity.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
• High School Diploma or GED required. • Associate's degree preferred.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE:
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certification required within the first 6 months of employment. • Must be able to maintain certifications required by standard operating procedures and state law.
WORK EXPERIENCE: • 3 years of call center work experience in law enforcement, security environment or customer service required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Knowledge of the Public Safety Board of Education Radio System.
• Considerable knowledge of operations of governmental departments and procedures.
• Governmental and departmental policies, and applicable state and local rules and regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Dispatches to Atlanta Public Schools' officers and other part-time law enforcement officers, contracted security and other civilians using an 800 MHz Public Safety Communications System.
• Dispatches emergency personnel to calls for service according to standard operating procedures.
• Interviews callers and process requests for service to include recording information with accuracy and completeness using the proper reporting system.
• Receives, assesses, and prioritizes incoming calls to include emergency calls to determine how best to meet the needs of the customers.
• Processes, enters, retrieves, and transmits accurately Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) and National Crime Information Center (NCIC) entries and inquiries, abiding by policies and procedures mandated by NCIC and GCIC.
• Demonstrates proficiency in working within deadlines and report preparation.
• Types and files reports as required.
• Continuously monitors life safety systems (fire and burglar alarms), and operates surveillance systems and security access control systems with proficiency.
• Assists with identifying and maintaining most current information in databases as required by the department.
• Reports inaccuracies identified or malfunctioning equipment in a timely manner.
• Creates trouble tickets for customers when needed.
• Maintains constant awareness of assigned units, locations, and status; conducts status checks to ensure safety of officers as often as ordered in the standard operating procedures manual.
• Maintains familiarity with all emergency procedures and notification processes; anticipate and prepare for activation of contingency plans due to unforeseen occurrences.
• Ensures that the supervisors and applicable resource officers and other District personnel are informed of all violations.
• Maintains a strong relationship with Atlanta Police Communications 9-1-1 Center other public safety personnel as needed.
• Assists in providing information to other law enforcement agencies with incidents involving local criminal activity that may impact the safety of students, employees or citizens.
• Maintains and submits log-sheets to supervisor related to activities that may include police reports, activity logs and time sheets and maintains all training hours.
• Contacts Principals, facilities services and other supervisors to report problems with buildings or communicate critical information as it relates to emergencies.
• Required to have prompt, regular attendance in-person and be available to work on-site, in-person during regular business hours and as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.

About the Position:
The Licensed Professional Fire Protection Engineer will perform interdisciplinary reviews of plans and documents for large multifaceted structures at nationally recognized research university. They will execute complex engineering and constructability analysis related to work covered by the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, including NFPA Codes, other referenced standards, Virginia Statewide Fire Code, and GMU Construction Design Standards for new construction, renovations, and repairs of educational, commercial, industrial, one and two family dwellings, and other structures to assure compliance with the code and related regulations prior to permit issuance. They will also conduct interdisciplinary inspections throughout all phases of construction to verify compliance with codes and related regulations during construction. Perform evaluations of proposed alternative designs to determine whether equivalent measures are provided. Provide analysis and decisions requiring engineering and constructability expertise as they affect life safety. The work shall be performed in a complex and fast-paced setting requiring professional expertise, attention to details, and client assistance. Other related duties as required under the supervision of the University Building Official.
Responsibilities:
* Review plans of new construction, renovation, and repairs of commercial, residential, and industrial buildings and other structures at the various design stages beginning no later than the preliminary design phase and provide code analysis of compliance. The review shall include written comments provided to Project Managers and others for resolution or response;
* Evaluate alternative designs using accepted engineering practices. The review shall verify compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, Mechanical Code, Plumbing Code, ADA, other referenced standards, the Statewide Fire Prevention Code, and the GMU Design Standards;
* Review shop drawings, calculations, and/or submittals for compliance to code;
* Perform interdisciplinary inspections of new construction, renovation, and repairs of buildings and other structures to verify materials, footings, foundations, framing, insulation, electrical, mechanical, fuel gas, plumbing, accessibility and final inspections.;
* Ensure compliance with the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code, the Statewide Fire Code, and the GMU Design Standards.;
* Ensure construction is in compliance with the approved construction documents and drawings. Inspections include a report to Project Managers and responsible parties for information or action as necessary;
* Perform review of special inspection reports and alternative construction product submissions for acceptance and record; and
* Other related duties as required under the supervision of the University Building Official.
Required Qualifications:
* An ABET accredited Bachelor of Engineering Degree;

Academy positions will vary. Position summaries are as follows:
ACADEMY CO-DIRECTOR:
Organized, energetic, solid decision-making skills, positive attitude, people skills, ability to speak and be dynamic in front of a large group, teaching skills, administrative skills, computer skills, current knowledge of educational trends especially in talented and gifted education, ability to work with another Co-Director to set goals and objectives for lessons, workshops and the week as a whole, ability to share the load of managing 200+ students at one time. Dependable, creative, charismatic, good with people, ability to diplomatically deal with parents, good communicator, flexible, able to make fulltime commitment during ACADEMY.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with middle and high school students.
Experience leading teams using effective communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities and coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time-sensitive deadlines.
Ability to proactively assess camp operations and anticipate potential needs.
Co-Directors should have attained a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Previous experience as a camp organizer, coordinator, or middle school teaching experience, either in schools or as a camp counselor/instructor/or other leadership position.

DUTIES:
(80%) Duties Include:
Oversee and work with ACADEMY team to develop a theme and implement all ACADEMY activities, classes and workshops.
Lead opening and closing sessions of camp, and all workshops.
Oversee planning, preparation and implementation of hands-on activities and guest speakers for workshops.
Prepare for ACADEMY welcome, setting expectations and ground rules for the week.
(20%) Duties Include:
Working with SOU Youth Programs takes the lead on training staff regarding duties, responsibilities, and procedures for the week.
Including the preparation for potential emergencies, and staff training and planning in preparation for emergency situations.

ACADEMY HEAD RESIDENT
Head resident must be enthusiastic, enjoy working with youth, have leadership abilities and a strong sense of how to work as a team member. This position requires time management and organization skills, and the ability to prioritize and problem-solve in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. The Head Resident must model responsible behavior including punctuality, appropriate attire, focus on the task at hand, and diffusion of drama. People skills, ability to oversee college students and a strong work ethic are core components of this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience working with middle and high school students.
Experience leading teams using effective communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to set own priorities and coordinate multiple assignments with fluctuating and time sensitiveness deadline.
Ability to proactively assess camp operations and anticipate potential needs.
Head Residents should have completed at least two years of college and should be currently pursuing or have attained a college degree.
Head residents must have at least one year of previous experience as an ACADEMY Senior Counselor.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

(80%) Duties Include:
Coordinate and equitably divide Head Resident duties between both Head Residents.
Supervise Senior Counseling staff and act as a role model and mentor.
Manage health and wellness initiatives, including the dispensing of medication and tracking of emergencies and health incidents at camp.
(20%) Duties Include:
Attend required staff meetings and training sessions. You may be asked to lead some of the staff training sessions.
Keep constant awareness of the flow of camp activities, and proactively support where needed.

ACADEMY SENIOR COUNSELORS:
Senior Counselors must be enthusiastic, high-energy, responsible, mature, and emotionally stable individuals who enjoy working with youth. Candidates should have leadership abilities and a strong sense of how to work as a team member. The Senior Counselor should be an outstanding role model for participants. Counselors must model responsible behavior including punctuality, appropriate attire and good personal hygiene, positive attitude, compassion, wise decision-making, and intellectual curiosity. Senior Counselors should establish good relationships with students by initiating conversations and activities, conducting living group meetings, and ensuring that all students feel included and welcomed.
Each Senior Counselor will be assigned to supervise 8-12 students during those times when students are not involved in classes. The time commitment for the job is considerable. Students will range in age from 9-13 years; depending on the student, there may be a need for high-level supervision. Senior Counselors are an integral part of the supervision required. Counselors must have the self-discipline to manage sufficient rest needed for maintaining a high level of enthusiasm and supervisory responsibility during a rigorous daily/week schedule.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work within an ever-changing work environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and in writing.
Ability to always put a positive face forward, no matter the circumstances, and the ability to function in a calm, efficient, and supportive manner, especially in crisis situations.
Senior Counselors must be at least 18 years old.
Counselors must be enrolled in a college or university and have completed their freshman year.
PREFERRED:

DUTIES:
(80%) Duties Include:
Be directly responsible for 8-12 students assigned to your supervision. Lead group activities with your group, and be available for counseling, problem-solving, etc.
Assist students with minor first aid, and be familiar with and provide support of regular medication needs as outlined by parents/guardians.
(20%) Duties Include:
Attend required staff meetings and training sessions.
Keep constant awareness of the flow of camp activities, and proactively support where needed.
Alert Head Residents to issues as they arise.

ACADEMY INSTRUCTOR:
ACADEMY Instructors will develop and implement an engaging and enriching class curriculum for a class of students of a specified age for four consecutive days in one week. These classes are designed to be educational and enjoyable, to engage students in critical thinking, and to inspire students to envision themselves as future college students. ACADEMY instructors agree to cultivate a safe and supportive environment for students with clearly communicated expectations for safety, respect, and responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Passion for teaching young students.
1+ years of experience with the subject matter.
In the last year of Undergraduate OR 20+ years old.
Ability to create age-appropriate engaging curriculum for 4-5 days of no more than 90 minutes of class time.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A college graduate.
1+ years of teaching professionally in a classroom setting.
DUTIES:
(80%) Duties Include:
Create age-appropriate curriculum that fits within the class time limitations, and encourages critical thinking and Project-Based Learning.
Arrive 15 minutes before the beginning of class and remain until all students are safely en route to their next activity, or are under the supervision of the on-site coordinator.
Provide a climate that is conducive to learning and that respects the rights of all persons without discrimination.
Be responsible for behavior management inside the class, and uphold camp policies, including internet use policies and safety guidelines.
(20%) Duties Include:
Attend required staff training sessions.
Prepare your classroom and supplies before each class.
Complete daily attendance records, and report missing or late students.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS (all ACADEMY positions)
These positions are designated as a critical, security-sensitive or safety-sensitive positions and therefore, requires the successful completion of a Criminal Background Check and adherence to confidentiality agreements.
Persons employed in these positions are considered “mandated reporters” under the Oregon Revised Statutes and are required to comply with the requirements set forth by the Oregon Department of Human Services.

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the University of Utah has an immediate opening for a Clinical Research Coordinator to join our team of investigators, lab personnel, and team of GI study coordinators. We are growing a comprehensive Microbiota and GI Immunology Consortia (MAGIC) Biobank for patients who visit our gastroenterology, hepatology and GI surgery clinics, procedures, and operating rooms to advance the field's understanding and improve the care for patients with gastrointestinal diseases with particular emphasis on inflammation and immunology. This position is a part of the growing Microbiota and Gastrointestinal Immunology Consortia (MAGIC) initiative at the University of Utah. For this exciting endeavor we are looking for a Clinical Research Coordinator to help build and maintain the biorepository. We envision this role to be truly translational, obtaining patient biospecimens and asking clinically and scientifically relevant questions to better our understanding of health and disease.
The individual will coordinate technical and administrative details involved in clinical research studies and assist the Principal Investigator Amiko Uchida, MD in achieving study integrity and objectives through the successful implementation and completion of protocols and procedures. Our biobank uses a sophisticated biorepository system called OpenSpecimen to easily organize and maintain samples and Redcap to survey patients. A competitive candidate for this position will be highly motivated, organized and have excellent communication skills (able to explain concepts to patients), eager to work in a team setting to improve the lives of patients with various GI disease. The ideal duration of the position is 2 or more years. (40%) Instruct classes in the Athletic Department, specifically PE 196 Varsity Athletics classes and/or PE 180 Varsity Conditioning classes. Prep work for the class could include film evaluation, practice planning, conditioning/workout planning, game day coaching, and travel with the team to away games. PE 196 and PE 180 classes are regularly scheduled and have a grade option of A-F, or Pass/No-Pass. AAI's are responsible for assigning grades at the end of the term based on standards spelled out in an established syllabus for these courses.
(20%) Assist in developing effective recruitment strategies, managing an assigned recruiting territory, following up on prospective student-athletes, and researching and targeting high schools to visit. Other duties may be performed within the title of administrative work, such as game management, facility management, fundraising, resident hall supervision and Athletic department coordination with the resident halls.

SOU Land Acknowledgement
We want to take this moment to acknowledge that Southern Oregon University is located within the ancestral homelands of the Shasta, Takelma, and Latgawa peoples who lived here since time immemorial. These Tribes were displaced during rapid Euro-American colonization, the Gold Rush, and armed conflict between 1851 and 1856. In the 1850s, discovery of gold and settlement brought thousands of Euro-Americans to their lands, leading to warfare, epidemics, starvation, and villages being burned. In 1853 the first of several treaties were signed, confederating these Tribes and others together - who would then be referred to as the Rogue River Tribe. These treaties ceded most of their homelands to the United States, and in return they were guaranteed a permanent homeland reserved for them. At the end of the Rogue River Wars in 1856, these Tribes and many other Tribes from western Oregon were removed to the Siletz Reservation and the Grand Ronde Reservation. Today, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon (*************************** and the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians (************************* are living descendants of the Takelma, Shasta, and Latgawa peoples of this area.
