Our Swim Instructors help our members improve their swimming techniques by providing quality instruction and coaching. Our club clientele is broad, so our Instructors enjoy working with toddlers on their floating skills up to Master/Triathlon competitors on advanced stroke mechanics.
Our Swim Instructors share the responsibility for monitoring all activities at the pool with regard to the public and fellow associates to ensure a safe, clean and well-maintained facility. Position Summary
Blackhawk Country Club is hiring a part-time Swim Instructor. We are seeking energetic, positive role models with experience in teaching swim lessons. Our program serves children aged 6 months to 10 years. Onsite training will be provided at the time of hire. Schedules are flexible and will be arranged with your supervisor, with most classes typically held after school hours between 2-6pm.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Teach learn-to-swim, beginner, and intermediate lessons in both 1:1 and small group formats.
Adapt teaching methods to accommodate the age, experience, and abilities of participants, helping them achieve their objectives.
Communicate regularly with participants and their guardians to keep them informed of progress.
Maintain a clean and safe teaching area.
Collaborate with others to provide care in emergency situations, both in and out of the water.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Experience in teaching swim lessons is preferred.
Instructors may need to shadow and/or co-teach before leading lessons independently.
Experience as a certified lifeguard, swimming instructor, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, or childcare provider is a plus.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
* Provides instruction; provide specific and corrective feedback to each client at each session
* Design and deliver effective and rewarding sessions and workouts
* Provide swim evaluations to help parents decide which program is best for their child and client retention

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS-LIFEGUARD (IF APPLICABLE)
* Supervise the activities of swimmers by consistently enforcing rules and regulations
* Notify swimmers of improper activities or hazards
* Rescue persons in distress or in danger of drowning when indicated and provide rescue breathing, CPR and First Aid
* Notify Aquatics Director of any accidents, rescues, or problems
* Report to the Aquatic Director any equipment that is in need of repair
* Answer inquiries pertaining to the use of the pool and Aquatics services offered
* Direct all helpful suggestions from participants and others to Aquatic Director or Club Management
* Attend all staff meetings and trainings.
* Available to work weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed as hours are not guaranteed and can change at any time
* Be on time for your shift and for rotations throughout the day. Be ready to work which includes being dressed in uniform (sunscreen applied) and wearing your Rescue Tubes and First Aid pack each day (return to the Lifeguard office at the end of the day). Check your pack for its proper contents daily at the start of the shift
* Help keep pool deck clean, safe and organized
* Attend all staff meetings and trainings
* Follow all safety procedures and precautions
* Give high quality of Customer Service

Job Summary
The Swim Coach is responsible for supporting the development and training of the club's swimming activities while also providing individual swimming lessons to members and guests. Day to Day

• Assist in designing swim practices as outlined by the manager and always maintain supervision of the group, including monitoring development for swimmers.
• Attend swimming meets and warm-up sessions as scheduled.
• Assist in the setup of the pool for training sessions while ensuring the area remains accessible for non-swimming team members.
• Help in overseeing the completion of daily assignments in designated areas to uphold club standards and align with the Star Service FOCUS expectations. This includes maintaining orderly and organized workspaces, tidying the entry area, and ensuring the aquatics facilities are well-stocked and arranged.
Additional Duties
• Due to the dynamic nature of the club, employees are expected to assist others as needed and take on additional tasks as assigned by management.

Instructs student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student athlete shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The assistant coach reports to the head coach and the high school athletic director.
2. The assistant coach is responsible for, and supervises all aspects of their level of the program with direction of the head coach.
3. Provides the head coach with information pertaining to his/her level of the program (scores, schedules, sites, discipline concerns, procedures and is directly responsible for inventory of supplies and equipment, etc.) Schedules and attends practice sessions, develops and implements individual/team training plans by the day, week, month, year as appropriate for their level in conjunction with the overall program goals/philosophy.
4. Makes sure each athlete is cleared from the athletic office to participate.
5. Complies with the rules and regulations as established by CCSD, Centennial League, and the Colorado High School Activities Association.
6. Monitors athlete's attendance/behavior/academic status.
7. Ability to use approved first-aid and CPR skills.
8. Understands the signs and symptoms of concussion and removes players that are exhibiting signs and symptoms of concussion.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Assist with the organization and developing the high school program.
2. Basic knowledge of boys swimming.
3. Possess or has the ability to acquire a valid Colorado Coaching Certificate.
4. Successfully pass the CHSAA coaches test, acquire CHSSA coaching registration and complete a concussion course per State Legislation and CHSAA By-Laws.

COMPENSATION SCHEDULE: Hourly
PAY GRADE: Hourly
SUPERVISOR: Athletic Director or designee.
Instructs student athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the student athlete shall receive instruction that will lead to the formulation of moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline and self-confidence. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. The assistant coach reports to the head coach and the high school athletic director.
2. The assistant coach is responsible for, and supervises all aspects of their level of the program with direction of the head coach.
3. Provides the head coach with information pertaining to his/her level of the program (scores, schedules, sites, discipline concerns, procedures and is directly responsible for inventory of supplies and equipment, etc.) Schedules and attends practice sessions, develops and implements individual/team training plans by the day, week, month, year as appropriate for their level in conjunction with the overall program goals/philosophy.
4. Makes sure each athlete is cleared from the athletic office to participate.
5. Complies with the rules and regulations as established by CCSD, Centennial League, and the Colorado High School Activities Association.
6. Monitors athlete's attendance/behavior/academic status.
7. Ability to use approved first-aid and CPR skills.
8. Understands the signs and symptoms of concussion and removes players that are exhibiting signs and symptoms of concussion.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Assist with the organization and developing the high school program.
2. Basic knowledge of boys swimming.
3. Possess or has the ability to acquire a valid Colorado Coaching Certificate.
4. Successfully pass the CHSAA coaches test, acquire CHSSA coaching registration and complete a concussion course per State Legislation and CHSAA By-Laws.
5. CPR & AED Certification required.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, AND REGISTRATIONS:
All certifications, licenses, and registrations must be valid and unexpired.
1. Has previous successful teaching, coaching and/or sport participation experience.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
1. Heavy physical lifting (50 lbs - items of various shapes and sizes).
2. Overhead lifting and squatting required on a daily basis.
3. Repetitive motion.
4. Standing, bending and kneeling.
5. Eye/hand coordination.
6. Handling, talking, hearing and near acuity required.

This position ranges from mornings to evenings weekdays and weekends, teaching youth ages 9 months to 17 years old. Teaching responsibilities include class preparations, teaching students, overseeing class check-ins, and evaluating individual skill levels. You will also be responsible for attending gymnastics staff meetings and spotting clinics. This is truly one of the most fun part-time jobs you can imagine!
Must be 16 years of age or older
CPR/AED and First Aid Certifications preferred, required within 60 days of hire.
