    Join our team and play an important role in keeping our campus safe, welcoming, and running smoothly. Under general direction of the events and grounds manager, perform various tasks related to grounds and lawn maintenance, snow removal and deicing operations, event and conference set ups, and mailroom operations, following established policies and procedures. Complete semi-skilled maintenance and repairs on campus vehicles and grounds/snow removal and deicing equipment. The job involves physical effort in the operation of heavy vehicles and equipment such as snowplows, lawn care equipment and exposure to harsh working conditions. Employees are expected to have prior knowledge and experience to carry out assignments with minimal supervision.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES This position description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the major responsibilities and requirements of the job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated on this description. * Perform a variety of grounds related maintenance tasks such mowing, weeding, pruning, planting, tree trimming, and watering of grounds. Restore grounds during spring cleanup. * Pick up and dispose of trash and recyclables keeping the parking lots, roadways, sidewalks, lawns, and fields clear of litter, trash, and other debris. * Operate a variety of vehicles and equipment including trucks, wheel loaders, tractors, forklifts, lawn mowers and utility vehicles performing various grounds related tasks including the transportation of college property. * Be part of a comprehensive snow removal and ice control plan and procedure. Operate snow removal equipment such as trucks, wheel loaders and tractors equipped with plows, brooms, and slat/brine spreaders. Shovel snow and spread salt on sidewalks and pavement as needed. * Provide minor maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles, grounds equipment and machinery including inspections, cleaning, and fueling. * Assist with capital grounds projects and installations in planters, planting beds, and landscaped areas on campus. * Assist with the inventory of grounds related supplies, tools, and equipment. * Set up and take down rooms, conference, and event spaces, for internal and external customers. Move, transport, set up, and straighten tables, chairs, stages, etc. for activities and events as requested. Collaborate with other departments within facilities, ITS, and security. * Maintain current professional and technical knowledge in the field through professional education and activities. * Occasionally sort incoming mail, interdepartmental mail, and packages by department and/or employee. Deliver large packages across campus. Operate mail machines including the postage meter and scale. * Check, lock, and unlock buildings and classrooms, set alarm and security system. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Ability to effectively communicate to key stakeholders. * Knowledge of and skill in all aspects of institutional grounds maintenance and landscaping. * Proficiency in the use of mobile phones, tablets, computers, and other electronic devices. * Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment maintenance. * Ability to read, understand, and work from sketches, drawings, and blueprints. * Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. * Must be available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year for events, maintenance, security, and emergency situations. Must have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the institution. Normal working hours are Tuesday - Saturday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm. Hours are subject to change during the winter season. * Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license with acceptable driving record. Maintain driver's license and acceptable record through the course of employment at WCTC. EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * High School diploma or equivalent required. * One year or any combination of education and work experience in a related field. * Associate or technical degree or courses in horticulture, turf grass management or environmental sustainability preferred. * Ideal candidate will have experience working in higher education, golf course, resort, or a hospitality environment. The Groundskeeper supports the Facilities department and available to start January 5, 2026. Perform a variety of duties related to testing of students and the general public for multiple testing programs. Maintain a secure testing environment to ensure that candidates test in a controlled and comfortable environment.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This position description should not be interpreted as all inclusive. It is intended to identify the major responsibilities and requirements of the job. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related responsibilities and tasks other than those stated on this description. * Administer exams using a variety of delivery systems; act as proctor for make-up and accommodated tests. Greet candidates, verify identification, provide instructions, seat candidates, start exam, monitor while testing, distribute results, and make appropriate referrals. * Prepare testing paperwork, supplies and computer stations for scheduled testing assessments. Paperwork includes rules agreements, sign in logs, testing materials and exhibits. * Review testing schedule and testing instructions in advance. * Compile and evaluate student information before testing to ensure need for testing. Prepare Test Center reports as required. * Upload and verify test scores. Troubleshoot basic testing software problems or delivery issues, notifying supervisor when major errors or incorrect data has been identified. * Contact and work with global help desk centers to resolve unusual or difficult software testing problems or delivery issues. * Maintain a working and updated knowledge of Test Center policies, practices, and procedures. * Periodically, travel to and from Waukesha County Jail and the WCTC Waukesha Campus to administer exams. * Register candidates for testing and respond to questions from walk-in candidates. Review updates on policies and procedures for various exams with candidates. * Prepare for and take certification exams to be eligible/qualified to proctor exams, resolve technical problems, respond to requests for information using reference materials. * Communicate the department's services to students, faculty, and community. Answer phones and serve students in-person, direct individuals to appropriate departments/areas. * Participate in and contribute to assignments and special projects of a similar nature and level. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: * Flexible schedule and ability to work days, evenings and Saturdays. * Thorough knowledge of Business English grammar, spelling, punctuation, office practices, procedures, and equipment * Ability to type/keyboard at least 35 words per minute. * Familiarity with microcomputer operations including data entry, word processing and spreadsheet/database applications. * Ability to troubleshoot computer desktop problems such as rebooting system, installing and uninstalling software, setting up test workstations, checking printer problems, etc. * Aptitude for organization, detail, and accuracy; ability to exercise judgment and discretion. * Ability to compile, organize and maintain data, reports, and records. * Ability to work effectively with individuals of different cultures and backgrounds including employees, students, clients and the general public. * Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. * Ability to meet testing credentials to administer and proctor tests as required and pass federal background check. EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: * High school diploma plus one year of additional coursework in computers or a related field. * One year of work experience in customer service or in an office environment. An educational philosophy which places the primary emphasis on student learning in the design, delivery, and evaluation of courses.
